Ok, so let me start off saying I wont respond to PM's about this. I'm including a text document, and if you can't follow thie instructions here or there, then you deserve to be shot, and forced to pay a fine not exceeding 5 dollars.

1. How To
1) NO, YOU WILL NOT GET VIDEO RECORDING WITH THIS, NOR SKINS, NOR VIBRATE & RING.

2) Download the file entitled "V600 to V620 flex and instructions by #phonephreakz.rar" either from an fserv on the IRC channel in my sig, or when Chopsu3i wakes up and can toss it on his site and post a link here. Once in my fserv, it's under firmware-Motorola VXXX Firm&Flex. Learn how to use an fserv, cuz I hate spending 30 minutes walking people through that.

3) Read the readme included in the file. Everything should work, if not, let me know and I'll update it if need be, but so far it works for me.

4) If you are too lazy to read it, or just want to know but don't want to try it, basically you use PST (not MFF, but PST itself), click file -> new -> pFlex. then flex your phone. Turn it on, and upload the files included in the "a" folder in the zip. All should work out.

2. Feedback
positive Some good features are gained by this flex, including faster menu's and a VERY fast camera in low light conditions (after you expose it to light). The keypad acts as a strobe light during an incoming call, if event lights are on. New videos, ringtones, and wallpapers/screensavers are included, the usual.

Drawbacks only 3.5 megs free is the first one that comes to mind. I'll probably delete everything to get my free space back. There are a lot of ringtones and 3 videos, so it should free up a bit. The phone takes a bit to load up. It goes from flower to startup very fast though, which I like, but it takes a bit to calm down and load the menu's faster.

Bottomline with the camera faster in low-light (about 30 fps, like real TV), and the menus being faster overall, I'd recommend it

BD5, were those files from the a_V600 file from the german site? good job narrowing down the files to a minimum cuz there were lots of files in there.

i like this flex menus are faster and camera is much more crisp than before. I took off the 3 videos on there to free up 4243 Kbytes i'll see if i can free up sum more. but everything seems to be werkin fine.

I have the 55r flash on a v600 locked and the engineering flex. I have 73xx or 74xx total RAM available and only 28% used. Not sure I want to give up that much space. I also have the newer camera version and it works pretty nicely.

There are a TON of ringtones and such included with this flex. I'm still deleting stuff from it slowly but surely. All I've deleted so far are the MMS pictures, and the video's. I have 4859 Kb total right now.

With how fast this flex is, it might be worth it. I don't know, I can't say, it's your call, but I like it so far.

it comes with three videos. but would it be like the v600 if you delete that one video that it will **** up your phone. or it will be ok.

I deleted all 3 video's and have no problem. BTW, I also deleted the video with my v600 flex, and didn't run into any problems either.

6.7 should be fine, as long as you've :ahem: "patched" it to not look for a WIBU Key. Brain, same with you.

This sounds great! I know I'm being redundant, but just for clarity sake PST 7.11 will work, correct? Also, I am running the 4AR flash, would it be optimal to upgrade to 55r? Thanks guys!

ok, I'm in the middle of flexing and the program has stopped responding and the pflex box has turned white, is this bad? Could it still be running or so I start over?

It's fine, like I said, it takes about 30-40 minutes to flex. Just leave it, and stay nearby so you can hit "ignore" on the error messages

i got 816 error messages but it worked perfectly. except when i turn it off. after the flower animation ends THEN the sound plays... but no big deal. and the camera works much better. (in fps)

some of the older manufacturing dates of the V400 (and I think) the V600 had the older camera that didn't take quite as nice of a picture.

flexed it during lunch time.. couldnt wait til i get home! ;-) work perfectly so far! even mpt thinks its a v620! =) so far so good. =)

FYI: Only with the 55R flash will you get 800+ plus errors when flashing with PST. But your phone will still work.

well i had 39r when i flexed and i still got 800+ errors. ohwell. and i just flashed to 4fr again and now my phone is really fast..

I flexed with Radiocomm and have max 10 errors.

BTW: You must not change all files for Sound.
Change param_table.bin and sound will works.

Hi, I follow your instruction but I am lost at the part open up 2K Phone file Manager. Is that PST feature or is it a seperate program? I look everywhere but cand find this to upload the file in folder "a" to fix the sound. Can anyone please tell me where to look for this 2kPhone file Manager?

My phone won't flash. It says "please power cycle...blah blah blah" or phone not connected. It has never done this before. I am going to reinstall PST. I have the 6.7 with the update.

Yep, I recieved 870 errors, and mine works fine. If you check the "do not remind me" box while flashing, it doesn't prompt you about the errors as it goes..

are you able to turn on speakerphone while its ringing? i know the v620 lets you do it but i was wondering if its possible on the v600 and it wasnt listed in the original post as one of the features that didn't work...

things I have noticed since the flex:

1) the "my telephone numbers" feature now works properly.

2) Since I deleted a bunch of useless files I have ALMOST as much free RAM as with the VXXX engineering flex.

3) It has nice little icons when WAP browsing.

Have flexed to v620, have one problem.

In ring styles i cant get into modify ring styles to change the settings (which ring tone etc) it just throws me out.

except for the vibrate only style which i can get into and change.

Anyone got this prob & any ideas on how to fix it?

Yea, that happens to me too. Vibrate I can change but everything else just bring me back to the menu. Just go to sounds then scroll over the tone you want then hit menu > Apply Tone

I also have these problems:

1) "No Voicemail Number Stored" and forgot what it was. Is there a default voicemail number?

2) When I go to my web browser it says "GPRS Network not available". I have my Web Sessions set up right? Could it be locked?

Well the reason you cant get into change ringtones is because you deleted certain ones that were being used. Just do a master reset.

1. Just change the number stored it should just be your own phone number.

2. Go to your providers website and use the tools to reinstall the gprs network.

For those complaining for the low memory available after flexing: I've deleted all the ringtones I don't use, the videos and the pictures, gifs, etc. Now I have 6952Kb of total memory available. And the phone still works!

Or you could try yelling at your phone to stop having low memory... sometimes that helps

i had that since i flashed/flexed from my stock. since then ive never had gprs again. could you be a bit more specific on how to do that?

well everytime i had to reflash and flex my phone it took out my stock gprs settings so i just went to my provider at&ts site and they have a program that sends the settings to your phone

So far so good.. everything worked out.. loading all my pics and ringers back on the phone now.. There is a setting in PST that allows you to save all of your browser settings before flexing so you can load em up right after the flex to avoid the headache of reprogramming browser wap and email settings.. saved me a whole lot of time... now i just gotta get rid of the movies, pics and sounds that i dont want to clear some space for all my games.. same concept to remove themes ringers and movies right?

Hey.. phone just rang and the keypad lit up.. that was cool.. I like this flex much better so far!!

Well, I am pretty sure you can use older version of PST. As long
as you have the newer p2k driver installed. The main problem is
older version PST won't install on WinXP, I have tried flash it with
both 6.7 and 7.11 and both give me total 8 errors. So I doubt you
will get any different result with other version.

By the way, I manage to find a the program p2k file manager and
upload the patch files to fix the sound problem. Everything works great and I doubt any one will change it back : P

ok i've tried pst 6.0, 6.7, and 7.1 it keeps doing that security key message, i've done the patch but i'm not sure if it's installed correctly, can someone please help me with this one? i can't get rid of that security message

Yeah, I know 55R is a flash, but it's still going to change everything to new settings entirely and basically give me a new phone. I'm just looking for something to help me forget 55R is still there. God, you guys, I'm not THAT big of a n00b, I just do things without thinking!

Hey question right quick, I've succesfully did all this except load up the gain table from the files we're supposed to load up to make it work,
how's the sound quality from the speaker with the gain_table from the fix files while ur talking? is it louder at all than normal or should i just load up the saved(edited) one i had from b4 the flex??

Yes. Me too.

SlverWolf -> The sound quality of the fixed gaintable is good. Works better for me than the old one (I was having problems with 55R and 11C) I think it sounds louder and more clear.

Well, uh, YEAH! Cause the gain_table has been modified in a most bizarre and effective way. I went to go customize it and I believe the ONLY things I changed were a little lower on the keypad tones and a little higher for the earpiece.

By themselves though, they were still pretty good.

In any case, AWESOME, AWESOME flex! My WAP is fixed, it has cool little icons on top, it's INCREDIBLY faster, new startup and shutdowns. . .SO COOL!

A+! WELL WORTH IT!

I don`t like the flex. it is faster but when I deleted most of the pictures/audio/themes/video i have capacity of 5.2MB, but with the F09 flex I have 7.2MB so I think that the speed isn`t worth it.

I think I found a new function for those with a v525. Somebody post first, but I think related to v600. Now in my v525 the funlight.pat file works. If you go to Settings -> Ring Styles -> Ring Lights and select any of listed, when you receive a call the keypad and the screen lights up blinking. This effect didn't happen with the 11C - V600 flex (at least in my phone)

It takes about 1 minute blocked in the Messages screen sometimes (the keypad doesn't work, and if I close the flip the screen and keypad still lights). Sometimes I have to remove the battery.

In order to send SMS or MMS I have to go to Message Inbox and Reply.
Could someone of you confirm this point?

To get the smart key back you need to edit mma_ucp only.
offset 191 -> change the D to an A

Then when you upload it, the field is back so that you can change it.

I have only replaced the param_table.bin in /a and all seems to be ok. I haven't tested the Alarm clock as yet though.

I can see the skins directory and files when I look in P2Kman but I can't seem to find it on the phone menus!!!!

I have deleted....
all videos
all themes
all MMS templates except 1 (Happy Birthday)
all Alertfile.mid's

and everything still works (inc. MotoMixer and Loud Details) so I'm happy!

Just tested alarm clock works fine.
I don't get the new message issue - it works fine too.

I originally had the same problem untill I reflexed th ephone and very carefully doid all of the seem edits again. The problem was definately due to a seem edit of some sort because I do not have that problem anymore.

Reflexed and the problem with text messages is gone. Now works properly (sms, mms and wap, I've downloaded some music from vodafone to try it). So I think it was an error editing seems (I've edited 0032_0001).

In PST 7.1.1 you must go to File -> Open (not New) -> pFlex

I just upgraded the V620 flex with 870 errors.

But everything works like a charm!

I also deleted most off the files and I got 6678kb of free space.

Can I delete the .bas files? It will not harm the phone? Also, I noticed there are some file extension that starts with /a/mobile/mib/pcf/wap_emot_cry_15x15_c.gif. Have anyone tried to delete those files?

Can I delete the .bas files? It will not harm the phone? Also, I noticed there are some file extension that starts with /a/mobile/mib/pcf/wap_emot_cry_15x15_c.gif. Have anyone tried to delete those files?

yeah there r lots of mib/pcf , but i only deleted those with the emot in them the rest I left alone.. but i dunt remmember everything being soo disorganised you have to go thru line by line to delete

Ok. Wierd thing just happened. After the flex, i started to upload all the files in a folder for the sound.
Then, I started to deleted files. Several of them starting with /a/mobile/audio/vavr/FILEPd.vr
I do a restart and now my sound is gone. So I reload the a folder again. Sound is back. But the extension files also came back. Can we not delete those files? The part where my sound was gone puzzled me.

Someone provide some real help pls thanks. I deleted some files with J2 infront of it i backed it up tho, i think these have got to do with java, not the ring tones. Hmmmm. Can't seem to get this right. I got sound and have deleted some files. Mostly pictures and some audios. When I try to d/l a ringer using p2kman, I see it under the sound folder and can play it too.
However, when I try to select it as ringtone it says ringtone selected. But when I try to view it under the ring style menu, it kicks me out to the main menu. What is going on.....

Tried the mpt as well. Didn't see it under ring style.
I have found the fix.

I want to be able to change the attribute number. There are some files I want to place padlock on. If you use mpt the default attribute number is not the same as if you would use p2kman.

I solve the problem though. I u/l all the ringers and than delete the mytone and temptone. It shows up now in the ring style option.

Love the flex, only thing that's happened which was bad was when I'd be browsing on gprs, and i'd receive a txt msg. i'd open it up, go back to browsing, all would be fine but then i'd receive another txt, open it and wouldn't be able to go back to gprs, the screen would just freeze so i'd have to take out the battery and reset it that way.

I have only replaced the param_table.bin in /a and all seems to be ok. I haven't tested the Alarm clock as yet though.

One new thing I discovered... while watching a video or listening to a tune you can now increase and decrease the volumewith the side volume keys. I don't believe I was able to do it with the regular V600 flex/flashes.

I felx my cell successfully with 870 errors!
The only problem I have is my Wap .
I did the setting for wap connection ( I'm using rogers in canada ) then when i tried to browes the address : http://mymobilehomepage.rogers.com , strange problem happend .
I should see 11 item on the page but it showed 8 item , just text , and at the bottom of the page there was an option " graphic view " , I select that and now the are eight black dots on my screen when I want to brows the net .

here is the only challenge i found with it, when i get a voicemail now.. instead of the v600 saying. "new voicemail" it say "new msg" which is basically a sms. I was wondering if anybody else is having this issue and is there a fix?

You may use your V600 seems on this flex and they'll work just fine. The only exception would be to make sure you have Mobile QQ enabled in your 0032_0001 seem. That's if you want your menus to be in icon format.

xlr8 has a hack to fix this problem.
You need 0032_0001
Look in offset 2, bit 1 (1 on, 0 off)

Make sure bit 1 is checked for on.
Load it back in phone.
Now your provider's logo should read Cingular like before.
VM should be fixed.

Since this feature is activated by the funlight.pat, I'd imagine seem editing would do jack-××××. MAYBE editing the funlight.pat, but chopsu3i and I looked into the e398 and v620 funlight.pat and couldn't find enough similarities to really do anything.

I'm into physics, not programming. I did as much as I could, lol

Does it worth it to do V620 flex? It seems that it requires some SEEM editing.

I am using engineering flex and 55r flash. Should I do it? or should I wait til there is a better version or even better model come out?

Does all the Java games work in V620 flex? I tried another flex SE6452AXXP10F9 before, and 50% of the java games do not work with it. But 99% of Java games works with the engineering flex. So just wondering.

OH, OH, OH and......if I press a number button no sound comes from it, so if I am on the phone with tmo and they say press 1 have to go to the menu and send a tone....wtf is that about?

Try to delete the mytone.db & temptone.db under p2kman. If not, try to d/l the a folder again. The gain_table could have been altered causing no audio.

As far as I know, yes. There are a few others, but most of their ops usually come into our channel and get help.

Now that being said, we're not a tech support, we usually wont answer questions about flashing and such. We send those here. But more advanced questions we'll answer and/or experiment to see.

Am I hearing this right? Are there a bunch of n00bs going through their phone files on P2K will MINIMAL knowledge of the program and deleting random files at will to free space, and then complaining about how various things don't work anymore?

I think my first flash and flex or ANYTHING was after a good 4 or 5 days worth of reading, asking, and contributing, and no less than 75 posts. But I see people with 12 posts that are saying they don't like the flex, and they've never used XV132 in their lives and they want F9 back.

Before I flex to V620 from engineering flex, would you guys tell me if the V620 flex works well with Java games?

so far the engineering flex works with 99% of the Java games. I used to have the SE6452AXXP10F9 flex and it works with around 50-60% of the Java games only. So I want to make sure that V620 flex works well with Java games before I do the flex.

Seccond the only problem I still have is browsing the net . I'm using rogers and I did the settings correctly ( same as before ) and now when I'm trying to browse the http://mymobilehomepage.rogers.com with my cell , it works in text mode only and I cant see all of the links ( just 8 of 11) and when I click on graphic view, it just show me 8 black dots on screen .
Somehow it looks like the browser in this flex can't view pages in gparhic view.

Do anybody knows how to fix it and am I the onlyone having this problem ?

I just flexed my v600 with v620 flex. I have 55r and 0015 lang pack. It works well, thanks to the flex file with sound fix from Phonepheakz.

I didn't need to do any SEEMs, everything just works perfectly. I don't mind about the minor things like the service provider shown on the display, etc. I think that majority of the people who have problems with this flex are the ones who delete things without doing any researching about what those files do. I don't care much about saving space as long as it can hold all my java games, and I don't care about doing little tweaking with SEEMs neither because sooner or later there will be newer flex, and I just don't have time to tweak little minor things every time I update the firmware.

At first, PST 7.11 just blank out when it's flexing. I thought that it crashed, and I just unpluged. I was afraid that my phone was game over. Fortunately, it still could start up. Then I reflexed again and it happened again. This time, I let it run, and it flex fine...they need to fix the interface of PST, it seems that PST is not updating its GUI when flexing, and it makes people think that it crashes.

This flex works fine and it runs all Java games fine as the Engineering flex. So I decide to stay with this flex. It seems to be running faster, but not a lot.

One problem:
If you charge your phone only 1 hr and the battery meter has only 1 bar, then you unplug your charger, the battery meter will suddenly goes to full bars. But it generally takes about 4 hrs to charge the battery in full in my experience if you let the charger plugged until the battery go to full bar by itself. This problem happens to several flexs including Engineering flex and v620 flex and F9 flex. This bug is still not fixed in V620.

Question #1:
Is there a way to backup all Java games and phone book and all setting in one place before flashing and flexing? If so, I can just reload all the previous setting and phonebook and games in one step instead of installing everything one at a time again. It saves a lot of time when you updates your firmware frequently.

Question #2:
Does V620 has only this flex as upgrade in software-wise? Or does it also have newer triplets flash file that we don't have now?

every moto phone i had the battery bar went backwards when you were charging, so, a complete dead battery showes 3 bars when charging then 2 then 1 then none then charge complete.

You can back up your phonebook with MPT, and I think you can just save the java game and reupload it, right? I'm not a big gamer, so I couldn't tell you. And as far as I know, I haven't seen anything to backup the settings. I don't think it would work anyway because it would be like trying to apply a PSOne's settings onto a PS2. Your phone becomes a whole new entity whence it's flexed.

Hi, hope this would help some PPL. I tried to flash it at least 30
times with my V300 just to figure out the maximum files that I
can delete from this V620 flex. I got 71xx but the phone is very
unstable. A lot of buttons just brought me right back to main menu.

With TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.1DR_SE6446AXXF10F8.rar and I got 874
errors. Then I flash it with TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4FR and getting
only 8 errors. I also tried flex it with both PST 6.7 and 7.11 and
got exact same result. I unplug phone a couple times during
flex and never have any problem to power it back up and flex again

I do notice if you use the p2kman to upload mp3 ringtones, some
time it won’t show up in ring styles, even though I can saw them
under audio folder. The tricks is deleted both MytoneDB.db and
TempToneDB.db and reboot the phone. I don’t have any problem
with the smart button straight from 4FR flash and just need to
modify 0032.0001 seem to enable engineering menu.

Just went inside and modified phone Compatibilities to C GSM
in order to get more accurate reading of battery. Last but not
least, my keypad and screen will both blink when I enable the
ring style during in coming call. I’m wondering is that possible to
modify the funlight.pat so just keypad flash but not the screen???
Is there any one can tell me where to look for this mod?

For me if you see your battery at 2 or 3 bars, you plug it in all of the sudden it blinks 1 bar orange background, or even say no bar red background, the point of all this is the battery indicators r not accurate which is nothing we dunt know...

I've learned to live with the underpowered battery drained mostly by the Bluetooth that stays connected at all times. However every night the phone gets a good 4-5 hours charge. At times though it will happen that I will be able to charge it for no more than 20 minutes to half an hour and I'll disconnect the Bluetooth so that I can have a bit more juice left.

ok, well here is a file, nothing pretty but it will, on NOCTURN only, turn the main screen off, followed by the keypad and the external LCD, and then continue onto normal path.

Just go to ringstyles > ringlights and select change and then highlight nocturn you will see the changes.

btw my phone details are:

flash: g_0B.09.4FR
flex: gs9v600t671sy13c

Shouldnt make a difference tho

MPT's connects to the v620 flex fine unitl i go into the phonebook. As soon as i click on the phonebook it says phone not detected and trys 10 times to find it. I had saved my phonebook to my PC before the flex. If anybody knows a way around this please help me out. Its no biggie since i can always reenter them all but what a hassel. My mpt is working fine after the V620 flex. That was how I transfer my phonebook listing back to phone.

S/W version:
Don't you go to menu, settings, phone info, flex??

Well, by any chance your have the older version of MPT since it won't recongize V620. Update it to 3.11 and your problem shoudl be gone. I have no problem what so ever with it : P

I flexed my V600 yesterday and have been pretty pleased with the results so far. The only real issue I ran into, besides the fact that I forgot it would delete all my pics and such, was the web browser. The browser is much better over what happen in the 55r flash. However, since the phone is now considered a v620, it seems that AT&T mMode functionality doesn't always work. For example, both tone sites available through mmode fail saying that I can't connect. Plus, I've found that I am unsable to connect to other WAP sites as well, getting server errors and other things. Is anyone else experiencing this prroblem?

Why would you want to connect to ringtone sites from ATT anyway? To pay $2 a ringtone PLUS data charges? BOO!

my sister wants the flashing keypad only, which files do we need to upload to her phone? and what is the funlight for? i don't notice any changed with the light? -- maybe im just not paying close enough attention?

upload the funlight.pat to the mobile/audio folder (there shd already be one in there, BACK THAT ONE UP. Then upload this new one there.

You can notice the difference when someone calls your phone. The kepypad and internal LCD will blink and flash if ur flip is open.

Is there any way to change my cellphone browser with v600 browser .!!!!!!!
After I flexed my cell , everything works great excpt my browser for browsing the net with the cell.
Do u know how can I solve this problem ?

If *#9999# stops working then enable bit 1 of offset 37 in 0032_0001 - that bit will re-enable the *#9999# combo if its disabled in the flex.

Or you could check the version by going through the menus.

I was having the same wap browsing problem after doing the V620 Flex thing, with sites not being color and usually text only.

What I did was modify seem 0117_0001. If you look carefully iot says V 6 2 0. If you modify offset 05 bit 1, it will change to saying v 6 0 0 and all wap browsing should work like it used to. It did mine.

This will also make MPT, and P2kMAN detect as a v600, but it will work.

hey, jus flexed my phone, (v600 to v620).. everything works great except for my message screen, when i go into messages and try to select new message, teh phone freezes and i will have to take out the battery, i can send messages by other ways though (replyin) and fowarding, but i cant create a new one, Has anyone had this problem and how to solve it

Well, I think that this happens to all flex version, but I want to know anyway.

After I plug in the charger, the phone will automatically set the ring volume to loud. How do I keep it from setting the ring volume to loud when it's charging?

I had the same problem with the phone resetting after hitting New Message. Had to reflex for that one. I think its because i was using some V600 seems when i was seem editing. I went back and used only V620 seems from the new flex and everything works kewl now.
