I didn't get either program on my Samsung I600 when I bought it. Isn't it supposed to come with it? If not, where can I get it?

No. Word and Excel does not come with any smartphone. It only comes on phones based on the Pocket PC OS.
There are programs that you can sue to view Excel and Word files but I do not think you can edit them.

That sucks, I wonder why. Can anybody point me in the right direction where I can look for these?

Maybe after doing such a lackluster job with Word/Excel for the PocketPC platform, Microsoft decided to let 3rd parties do it right for them with the Smartphones?

My guess is that most will just view the attachments in email since there the SmartPhone OS isn't text entry centric as a ppc would be.

Profimail comes with a free file explorer that has a word and text file viewer, no need to register the program just use the explorer to view the files.

Can anyone tell me if these Word programs do a decent job on the smartphone for viewing documents?? What about viewing a PDF file?? Good results or hardly readable?

The "File Viewer" application that come with the MPx220 does a reasonable job of allowing you to read these files.

Yep. If you use an mpx220 then you already have File Viewer, which is just Picsel Viewer that's been renamed. If you don't have an mpx220, then Westek's Clearvue suite works fine.
