I have transferred my video files from my phone to the PC, and when I tried to open the video, it asked which application I wanted to open it in. I just clicked on a random one (silly me) and afterwards realised that the box saying "always use this application to open this type of file" was ticked. So now
whenever I try and open the videos it comes up with an error message saying "Media player - MMSYSTEM281 This file can not be played. Check the file name or install a driver that supports this type of file". It is a 3GP file. Do you know what I can do to reverse the mistake I made and enable
me to view the videos? This computer is Windows 98 second edition. Is there anything I can do to reverse this, or do I HAVE to install a driver to view a 3GP file? And if so what driver is that?
Can anyone help me...I am desperate!!!!!!!!

To view .3gp file you will want something like quicktime 6.5, once installed hopefully it should re-assign the file association of .3gp to the quicktime player. If this does not work, you will have to change the file association manually, but as i have not used win98 for a longtime you will need to check on the interweb
Hope this helps.
