I was wondering if the data cable for the sanyo 5150 could be used with the new 5300. I'm assuming this phone is goin to be out soon, like around Christmas time since it was approved in August. appreciate any help. TK...

I seriously doubt it. The 5000, 5150, 6000, and 6200 share the same cable. The 4500 and 4700 do as well, but the 4900 uses a new USB-only cable. That leads me to believe that the 5300 will also use a USB cable. Hopefully it will be the same one that the 4900 uses, but I can't guarantee it.

I can say that it is very unlikely that the 5000/5150/6000/6200 cable will work with the 5300.

Thanks for the input... I was just curious because the sanyo 5300 looks identical with the 5150 besides the camera attached to it. I hope they come out with a serial cable option so i can attach it to my ipaq. THanks again..

serial is old and slower than usb, no sense to use the old technology, let's move forward.

I'm sure there will still be a cable (eventually) to attach it to your iPaq.
