Since now we can unlock the 5600, anyone try it with T-Mobile yet? I currently have the original Sidekick with the Sidekick plan, 200 anytime minutes, 1000 weekends and unlimited data for $39.99. What would happen if I use my current sim in a unlocked 5600? Would I still be able to keep the same plan with unlmited data? Or will they force me to change plans?
Anyone try this?

I cant answer most of your questions since I have no experience with T-Mobile. I can say that the T-Mobile SIM card does work in an unlocked SMT5600. I put my friends SIM in and was able to dial out.

Am using TMo SIM in an unlocked 5600, zero problem as far as that part is concerned. However, some other users appeared to be bothered by the fact that the carrier shows up as Cingular & the triangle which signifies roaming is present. This happens if you use the unit in arear where TMo towers are not present (they ride on Cingular's network in some area, e.g. Cal.)
This is true on other non-TMo specific handsets because there's no translation in the table to display TMo, in reality, you're not roaming if that's a concern, a simple 611 call will assure you of that.

An unlocked 5600 works fine on T-Mobile, include WAP/MMS/GPRS and all that. However, if you stick in a SIM provisioned for a Sidekick, all you will get is voice service, since the SIM is specially provisioned for the Sidekick data access through Danger's servers.
At least that's how it was when I had my older Sidekick, not sure about now. You can always try and see what happens, it won't harm anything.

So do you guys just have t-zones to access the internet? Or do I have to get the unlimited data plan for T-mobile?

Technically, you're supposed to use the $19.99/month plan for real Internet access.
Most folks have no problems making the $4.99/month t-zones plan work for surfing/email, but it is restricted to ports 25, 80, and the ports for POP3/IMAP -- all other ports are blocked. i.e. The MSN Messenger program on the 5600 won't work because it needs a port that's blocked on the 5600. You can't surf to secured web sites becaus that port is blocked.
