Treo 600 and SD Memory cards - suggestions

Looking for comments re SD memory cards for Treo 600.

What is difference between their ultra II vs regular SD, besides huge price difference...and for someone who is going to use it primarily for storing/backing up applications, some pictures and email files (no music needed as I have iPod), does it make a difference?

I've read elsewhere to watch out for the Sandisk models, some of which are made in China and have poor QC, and stay away from Sandisk completely. Instead, suggestion is to buy the more expensive but better quality Panasonic brand.

I think 256 MB will be enough for me, although for same price as Panasonic 256 MB, can get either one 512 MB Sandisk Ultra II or two regular Sandisk 512 MB SD cards!

Thanks,

I'd go with the San Disk Ultra II.

The Ultra II cards perform faster.

I had Sandisk for years and I have no problems with them. (On other devices.) I would suguest SanDisk Ultra 2 or Extreme as well. Both are 9/10mb transfer rate. Lexar 32x is 4mb transfer rate. Panasonic cost the most and its 9/10mb transfer rate. You may ask why highspeed memory card... Its because with some programs it does scan the memory for changes.

Here is where I got mine... www.tigerdirect.ca

Is there a limit as to how big, like memory wise, can you get it to work on a Treo?

Thanks for the two suggestions re Sandisk. After two attempts on eBay, finally got a 512 MB ultra II. Ironically this one (albeit slightly used) was my lowest bid of the three eBay attempts.

I should be getting before the end of week and look forward to trying out. Again thanks

I don't think so, I've heard of people using the Sandisk 1 GB in their T600.
