SD card problems

Hello I have a Kingston 128mb SD card. When I first got it, I formatted it on my Palm Tungsten E. Now everytime I access the card through my USB card reader, I cannot add or delete files. I try to format it in Windows and says "The disk is write-protected." When the little slot is not on the "Lock" tab. The only place I can reformat is in my Tungsten. Anyway to fix this... basically my SD card is almost useless if I cant add, delete files on it using an SD writer. BTW this only happens to this specific card which was the only one formatted under my Palm. So i think it has something to do with the way Palm formats it. Any fix or help to this will be much appreciated.

I am having the same problem with my treo 650 and card reader....it takes HOURS to move 500 mgs of mp3s via the serial cable and I don't have a bluetooth dongle (and I also have no idea how long it would take to move them over that way either)

I don't know what it is about my card reader (I have one that lets you read multiple types of flash memory) and I am only having a problem with the treo reading and even RECOGNIZING the card when I transfer files using a card reader

anyone have an idea for our problem??

Delta: can't help ya.

amj: This may sound stupid but it confused me when I first got my multi card reader. Since I had it pluged into 1 USB port I thought it would show up as 1 drive. So I put my Memory Stick in and read drive "J" and that worked fine. I thin put my SD Card in and tried to read drive "J" again but it said there was nothing there. After some confusion I realized each one of the memory card slots shows up as a different drive (drives H - L for me) So I have to look in drive "L" for my SD cards. I don't know if this is your problem, but it could be.

nope the card reader sees the SD perfectly fine...my treo was having a problem seeing the SD after I had put mp3's on it using the card reader.....

i just downloaded card export and used that to format the SD in the treo and move the files over...works great now and spead is the same as using the card reader

we can stop banging out heads against the wall (or you may want to start once you read further and discover we are both dingbats)

the treo uses VFS formating

windows use FAT

of course I kept formating the card in the cardreader and not in the treo and did it more than once (like a dingbat)...sigh now I know better!!!

Whoa, such an old thread Anyway I found out that my card was defective. I can't reformat or delete files on it using my computer. But it works fine in my digicam, so thats what I use it for.
