Hi everybody, I'm new in this forum and I actually don't know much about cell phone software or whatever... I want to convert my A56 into a C56. I live in Argentina, over here all technology stuff of any kind is really expensive. The usb data cable I need for this "operation" is around US$44. That is around ARG$130, what is 1/6 of a media salary. This price is a little less than the half of the phone price! So, if anybody could make his own cable for doing this, and can give any information about how to do, I'll be endless grateful. I don't know if this cable has an electronic board or something like that. If it is only wires, it shouldn't be difficult to do. I guess major problem is phone side connector.
I actually am still collecting the necesary files.
If can help me please e-mail me at: raul_godoy@yahoo.com
Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards.

Get a data cable from Ebay. From what I've read, non-OEM cables are better for the type of operation you're planning.

Yes, get non-OEM at all times, as OEM cables are not compatible for certain operations.
Having said that, I feel sorry for Argentines because their exchange rate is really brutal, so it costs them a lot just to get a cable. However, having looked at the handsfree headset, charger and data cable connectors, I see that the data cable has the most pins, so it'll be hard to make a cable with the appropriate plug on the phone side... so rgodoy might still be better off buying a cable.
rgodoy, please look at that A56>C56 thread, there are still links to the files there.
