ive got a lg4015, with sun java 1.0
ive downloaded a couple games on my pc an i was hoping to throw them on my phone when i got my data cable. but my cable doesnt seem to work worth a s**t. so i tried just uploading my games to my website. now the files are in *.jar format. and when i send the phone to the url "http://*****/tetris.jar" it tells me theres no content. so i tried to make a lil *.wml file with links to download the *.jar files an it still gives me the same ×××× error.. how do i get my phone to download games like this without having to pay for the "sponcered" att&t games.. it seems the only thing i can download is pictures. is there a XML or WML tag specificaly designed to tell the phone its ok to download this extension??? or am i hosed?

Well, webbrowsers are usually made so there not suppose to download ringers/pictures/etc off the internet or else ppl would pay the web charges and not the 1.99 or 6.99 games. In addition, try getting a new cable from ebay for like 5 bucks plus shipping. I did that with mines with my 4600 and it worked like a charm. Make sure it includes the drivers :P I suggest gigabargains.com since they are real good at promoting there items in ebay. They are located in CA but it only took 3 days to get to New Jersey, First class mail comes with there shippin fo like 6-7 dollars so its only like 15 dollars!!!

LG phones don't support Java. They only support brew which means you can't get free games

ok data cables dont work for rx/tx on the LG4015 4020 phones. the only thing they can do is use ur phone as a modem for laptops. there is currently no support for these phones, as far as transfering stuff to em via pc.. trust me ive talked to the tech's at LG electronics. even pitbim didnt have a solution yet. i personaly believe they did that on perpose, cuz its a phone often picked up by people that dont have any credit. an they can squeeze blood from a turnip..

Oh and the LG4015 that i have, has Sun Java 1.0, so i dunno what the hell ur talkin about kid....

I've got a lg4015 and was able to upload a game to my phone using the wap server in Polyphonic Wizard

Ok theres a program called Polyphonic Wizard, (do a google search, and you'll need the crack www.crackdb.com has it)

You then have the option to transfer ringtones, pictures or java apps, via its built in wap server. Just use the test option to make sure your phone can access the wap server, I had a hell of a time behind firewall and router, the only problem i had was that i couldnt get it to work on port 80, but it has an option to use port 81 which is the only way I was able to get it to work.

Once my phone log onto the wap server it was pretty much did everything on its own, put the game in my folder, game works too.

Oh by the way the game I found is Gauntlet, (only one I could find for lg4015) If anyone wants it leave me your email addy, same with poly wizard, and I'll email them to you
