Uploading MP3 on VX4400

I have seen post that suggest this is possible. What am I doing wrong?

I have the file down to 25 seconds.... in mono format and it is 16 Kbps.

It is under 70 K, but when it tries to play to file it just has dead silence.

Any suggestions?

The simple answer is that the VX4400 isn't MP3 compatible (sad, I know). You might want to try GetRippedOffNow (Verizon) or RazorEdge (USCC).

Actually it is possible and works great. I will try and get you the info on exactly how to do it when I get home later. I have a few on my 4400 and have never had a problem.

I have uploaded mp3's and use them on my 4400
I got them from http://www.mrbass.org/ringtones/ but i am not sure if the updates he made changed anything for the 4400. I did a quick look over and it seems the exact same to me, but just added some tips for the 4500

Before you upload the mp3's to your phone - change the .mp3 extension to a .mid extension.
Works great for me.

I am having the same problem -- real MIDI files play fine, but MP3 files (whether the extension was changed or not) do not play. They show up in the menu but only silence when playing them.

The same files play fine on my VX4400.

So it is true that the MP3 files WILL NOT play on a VX4400

Can anyone prove this wrong?

Dave
