8410 ringtone (text) help please

i have a 8410 and it will not ring when you recieve a text just the reminder or vibrate why i have seen like 5 phone like this in fact it have never seen one that does ring but yet it has the ringer opition
please help and let me know if i can make it ring i cant up grade but as of right now i want my nokia back
