5600 Start-up time

i was wondering how long (approx.) the 5600 takes from when you press the power button until the home screen appaers and the phone is ready to use. i looked at it the other day in the store but i had to go, it seemed like a long time. thanks everyone

my verizon contract ends in late Jan, do you think i will still be able to get this phone through Cingular then?

Startup time varies because it depends on plug-ins and shortcuts on the home screen. I used one homescreen that would take 3 minutes to load or hang. Many problems with that homescreen were solved by correcting the shorcut path or deleting it.

navzdy: rumor is Cingular is going to pick up this phone from AT&T, but not sure when.
The start time is just like Windows on your pc, it needs to load all the plug-ins, and programs.. If the phone is based in DOS, I'm sure it would be faster
