MPx220 Day One

First full day with the MPx220 from Amazon with .342 firmware.

No in call volume issues that I could tell, callers could hear me and I could hear them, this is on Normal profile.

MP3 volume is too low, I was gonna try pushing the DBs on a couple of MP3 files and re-encode. Not a big deal for me.

Haven't really tested the camera, what I have done sucks but I haven't tried adjusting any cam settings. I'll leave the digital photos to my F828.

Killer apps; CodeWallet and Power Tasks from Developer One. I can sync all the critical info from my Outlook calendar, contacts, tasks and store all my personal info in CodeWallet.

Also all of the data that needs to be entered can be done on my laptop and synced with the phone. Only minimal 'on the go' data entry on the phone.

Being an IT project manager I need my calendar and tasks with me at all times and the MPx basically replaced my PPC.

Overall I am satisfied for a $200 phone.

Is it unlocked though? I don't live in the states but can buy from Amazon easier than Best Buy, but want/need a totally unlocked phone. Thanks if you know...

I bought Cingular service with the phone so I haven't tested it myself but I understand from many others on the forum that Cingular's MPx220s are unlocked.

If you search some of the first posts from people who bought the MPx from BB there is a lot of discussion about Cingular not locking any of their world phones.

I have read several places that Cingular's quad band phones are unlocked, but I'm not sure.

Cingular's MPX220 is unlocked while AT&T's is locked.
