Could you do me a favor? Take a high res photo with beam receive turned on (that's option 7 under Settings, "Beam"). My .342 phone can take photos with BT turned on, but will take corrupted photos with Beam Receive is turned on. The corrupted photos look just like the ones you get when you tried to take a photo with the .325 firmware with BT turned on. Thanks!

i have the 1.3 version and my pics don't get distorted with both BT and beam on like I did with the .325 version.

where did u get the new 1.3 version, and is the camera completly fixed. i keep trying to order one from customer care and they said that there was a problem with the phone and they are making moto fix it. That it could be 2 weeks, and that was on this past monday...

I called XBM (exchange by mail) on Tuesday and got a new phone on Wednesday, with the 1.3 software. The rep seemed to be clueless about firmware versions, but when I identified issues with my phone (e.g., low volume, camera issues) that was enough to get them to send out the replacement. Luckily, it already had been flashed with the updated version :-)

(If you call XBM, the replacements will be sent out 2nd day, unless you pay $7.50 to upgrade shipping to overnight)

I am wondering what number do you call for the XBM? I purchased the phone while I was in the US and Bestbuy in Canada does not support returns for this.

I do not get any corruption with my pictures with either bluetooth or IR beam on. I have a AT&T MPx220 (fw .343).

I have a Cingular with .343 and with BT on I was getting the distorted photos. I performed a master reset and now I have now no issues what so ever. I still have not noticed a difference in the volume though...

I thought the cingular phones had the .325, .342 or the new 1.3?

Yeah, to my understanding only AT&T phones had the .343.

Just got mine with (F/W 1.30), about an hour ago. There is a night and day difference. NORMAL profile is as loud as the OUTDOOR profile was on the other phone. I haven't played with the camera much yet, but I did check out the video camera; on the other phone it was practically useless. On this one, it's actually fun to play around with. More updated to come as I get to play around with it some more.

Looks like BB has a mixed batch of the phones. the demo was 1.3 while the units they sold me were 342. Looks like if the 2 week trial goes acceptably I may have to send them back to Cingular for an exchange.
