don't take this personal

but when talking about cell phones

it's wall papers or backgrounds

technically a screen saver is an 'animated display' designed to prevent Phospher burn it on CRT screens.

it comes up after a time delay when you walk away from your computer

to prevent still image burn-in to CRT

Wow, pretentious much? You sound like one of those computer geeks who spends more time arguing over who's hard drive is bigger and playing D&D then they do out in the real world. Get a life BucZ (or a girlfriend that you don't have to inflate).

Look dipstick, since the 1980's when CRT burn in was a issue and there were ways designed to prevent it, they got called "Screen Savers" for a reason.. guess what it was.. it saved the screen from burn-in of the image displayed to it. If you have ever seen a old dumb terminal from that period or early (yes that was their trade name) they always had burn in after a months use. this is because at that time there was no way except turning it off to prevent the burn-in, and that was to tedious to have to log back in every time.

the image displayed under icons and such during use of the PC was either called a Wallpaper or a Background Image.

Get it straight.

If you call it a screensaver, your a inept idiot user who is best identifed by the following IT terms.

Actually a computer geek would know what the proper term is... as you can see above.. i am one
