GX20 data cable AGAIN!

Has anyone been able to make a data cable work? I installed everything correctly. My PC sees the cable OK, and Handset Manager has the correct comms port selected - though 'Sharp GX 20' and 'Sharp data cable' are grey'd out in the other two fields. I have data cable selected on my GX 20 under PC Link. And Handset Manager is STILL searching for the handset. Any ideas?
