Recording phone conversations on MS Smartphone

I currently use a Nokia 6620 Symbian phone and a piece of software that automatically records phones calls. There are at least 3-4 of these type programs for Symbian OS. I read somewhere here where someone said that this type of program is not possible to write for the MS Smartphone because of limitations in the OS. Is this true? If so can anyone point me to the source or article that states this? I just bout a new SMT5600 and was planning on using it, but if this isn't possible, I'll stay with Symbian for new.
