Anyone got Spamkiller or Blackballer to work effectively?

As the title says...... Anyone? I've been gettin too much unwanted porno n just plain annoying sms/mms from absolutely unknown ppl lately. Spamkiller does block sms but not mms,while Blackballer claims to do that n block calls as well...... But actually manages to do absolutely nothing! Anyone had luck doing it ? I have contacted Orange but they asked me to file a case with the police....i dont have the time or interest to get entangled in a police mess.. Are there any other such apps which could block unwanted messages?

Trust me....it isnt fun when u switch on ur cell in the morning and get flooded with message after message of stupid n crappy porno clips n images. Thats not quite the way i look forward to start my day.

maybe its hard for u to imagine cos MMS is free here(atleast on Orange).

I haven't given those apps a try as yet. Thankfully SMS and MMS spam isn't very commonplace here. But, should it ever start to, I'll have to keep those apps in mind.

Well, if worst comes to worst, you can always try having your cell phone number changed. Unless of course you've never really given this number out or submited into any online registration forms and people are just out there spamming the system wildly; then the problem is more systemic than it is isolated and your carrier should lock down their systems better.

but i think u can block sms/mms thru your provider?

@Flipflash77.... The prob is this isnt some kinda organized spam.....its just a bunch of losers who keep messaging randomly.... Other losers inturn add the entire list of forwarded numbers n the circle keeps growing exponentially! I have messaged/called some of them to stop spamming me,n some have stopped.But most dont,n theyre from all over india so i cant do much! @angel_wing0...... If u meant blocking messages at the service provider level..... Orange said they would do it only after a formal police complaint is lodged n its proved that the culprits do actually spam.......

So it's like annoying email forwards that started out from people you somewhat know and they it annoyingly grows from there?

Yeah very much similar.... i just know one guy in that huge list of forwards n he himself is gettin spammed

Im using mms, but thankfully, no such spams yet.

@abhi.....i didnt give out my number to anyone....i shudve had ur number, but i dont

@angel_wing0.....changing the number would mean buyin a new sim.... N then the huge hassles of informing everyone about my new number! I think i'll wait for a couple of days n see if things improve......if not, a police case would be the only way out.

yeah.... The system is india is different from the one in the U.S(n possibly Canada). U guys there own the number rite? N it stays the same no matter which service provider u choose......
