s700i music formats plz help!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me what muisic formats the s700i use for ringtones, as i know it will not accept mp3's.
also if there is any ringtone converter software that you would recommend.

Apart from this i think this phone is great my mum has the 7610 and she much prefers my phone to hers. the pics r wicked and the phone is really nice to use. Would definatly recomend it.

My S700i can use MP3s for ringtones.

If your phone is on Vodafone then the option to use mp3 ringtones has been removed by there software.

The only way to put a mp3 as a ringtone is to use the SE DRM packager this changes the mp3 into a dm file and the phone does not reconise it as an mp3 even though it is and you can use it as a ringtone.

Look on the Sony erricson websit for the download.

hi. how can i put mp3 files in reduced size format? my most of files are in 4 MB size. any way to put it in smaller size? also few of my friends with nokia phone are able to put around 80-90 songs and 700MB movie in 128MB card. can u tell me is it possible in S700i? i dont mind changing format of content.

The sony DRM packager does not make the mp3 file smaller it just changes the type of file. you would use this only if you want to put an mp3 as a ringtone.

If not just put an mp3 as normal to your phone ther should be no problems there.

As for Video you need to get an 3gp converter this compresses mpegs and videos. i had a 40mb video and converted it to 2 mb and work great.

Nokia do a converter on there website but you have to join it first.

thanks. so this means that if i convert the video in 3gp format and then transfer to my s700i it should work nice and it'l get nicely reduced in size. can any1 give me link to download 3gp converter? also i have heard that if mp3 is converted to mp4 format and transfered to s700i it works nicely with reduction in size of file. is it true?

Yes if you use 3gp you can have videos on your phone.

As regards to mp3 why do you need to compress them you have 32mb internal memory and 32 mb external memory.

Thats rather alot of mp3 to begoing on with.

Go to the nokia developer site you will have to join but there is a 3gp download that works well .
