heh - the title pretty much says it all, im pretty new to the synch game and was wondering if there was a way to make my contacts on outlook on my computer- then when i hook up my phone, have it load up into the phone -- i miss my t610's feature of copying the sim to the phone memory

Posted by: slocko

That is the entire purpose of activesynch. It will synch your contacts in outlook along with your inbox if you so choose, to your phone. Calendar appointments are also synched.

It happens as soon as you connect your phone. As a plus, the synch cable also charges your phone.

Are you asking about sync'ing to the phone's memory or to the SIM? For the former, ditto slocko. For the latter, I think you have to manually move contacts to the SIM.

Right, but my question is how do i enter in my contacts onto my computer - and then where do i put em to be synced into my phone - i just dont get it

Your computer should have a program called Outlook.

Outlook has a section within it called contacts. That is where you type in your contacts.

Once you have typed them in and installed activesynch, the phone will synch automatically. The very first time, activesync will guide you with a wizard on setting up the connection.

Both activesynch and outlook come on a cd-rom that comes with all smartphones.

if you still don't get it, bang your head even harder

Heh - thanks bro - one last question - less retarded - can i use outlook 2003 instead of the included 2002?

Absolutely! I use Outlook 2003 with no problems!
