Joining the ranks, bought n-Gage QD.

Please allow myself to introduce... myself.
Decided to buy one and see what all the noise was about (gotta do something until PSP comes out, right?)
Picked up a unit off ebay that came with the following titles:
Tiger Woods PGA 2004
NCAA football 2004
MLB Slam
Tony Hawk Skater

So, while I'm waiting for the QD to arrive, I ordered a 512MB ATP MMC card since I've heard the choir preaching to not install to the internal memory.

Wondering do any of you guys play 'arena' games? If so, which ones? -The only arena game I've really read reviews on so far is Pathway to Glory. (sounds pretty cool)
Fifa 2005 looks good too, but no arena play for it.

Any good driving games out?
Colin McRae rally sounds fun, but I keep hearing horror stories of it slowing down machines or causing other problems...?

That's it for now I think.

get asphalt: urban racing, i have to say that is the best racing game out there so far!

btw congrats on joinging the nagge ranks

Posted by: RoYaL21

indeed, Asphalt is the best racing game. I really dont like colin mcrae.

Welcome! Gee, that's two in one day. The flock gets bigger and bigger.

I'm starting to go onto the Arena more. My QD came with THPS bundled, though its Arena mode is kinda silly (though it is nice to be able to watch videos on how to do certain goals, I haven't played THPS1 since my dreamcast in like 1999).

I'm addicted to the Pathway to Glory demo. So much so that I actually ordered the MMC (can't stand getting versions that don't work, are really slow, are betas, or crash). Download the demo level and give it a whirl.

Pocket Kingdom is perhaps the ultimate Arena game, but I dunno... Looks a little weird. I'll give it a try, but it is a strange one...

Congrats Youre going to love it !!!

Welcome on board , I think it's time we made this a main forum and not a subforum . Some people post in the Nokia Forum by accident since they can't find the N-Gage forum

I think this is probably an accurate statement. I've been here for a while and only found the ngage forum because I did a search for some ngage topics last week.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Yeah, I'll have to try out some demos once I get going.

Gabe

nice to see that more ppl has been getting the ngage!

What kind of demos are you interested in? I haven't really developed a large love for the N-Gage games but I prefer to use mine for mp3s .

well if he is looking for demos look no farther than my-symbian.com

Nine phones?!?!
...
...
...
I'll avoid the obvious questions of where the heck the money came from, but out of curiousity... What were the other 8?

obvciously u didnt read close enough:

Ummm... Does "D'oh" qualify as an accurate statement in this case?

Still, in a 6 week span that's quite the onslaught of phones. Especially the incredibly rare SE T608 (the first CDMA Bluetooth phone, partically vaporware).

for me:
T226, T39mc, SL56, M56, 6590i, V70, Ngage QD
(already had the T637)

for dad:
6590 (because he liked my 6590i for the FM radio and only needs single band since he uses T-mobile), and refurb 8290 to replace his 3 yr old one that is starting to act up after dropping a number of times over the years.

I make okay money being a network administrator and like to induldge myself from time to time in various interests/hobbies. Recently decided to try the phone hobby. -I will likely sell several of the phones that don't hold my interest. Most likely the T226 and M56.

Using a dummy SIM I've managed to play some Tony Hawk so far on the QD. Pretty impressive. Beats the heck out of the gameboy advance I had years ago.
Cheers

I've actually had the T608 since it was released (phone orders only) the last week of Dec. 2003.
I'm terminating my SPCS service very soon and will probably sell that one also.

you're so lucky!!!
becoz you have SE T608 (extremely rare!!!)

Posted by: Scottish Skyeandce

though CDMA has better technology, the stablity is another story.....
no matter using moto T720, C333, samsung A600, LG VX4400, it keeps dropping call, even under decent reception
on the other hand, GSM (using T-Mobile) is a lot better, more stable

hope nokia will release 3rd generation n-gage someday (MUST have EDGE, and class 10 GPRS)
my n-gage (original) is used as just a game console

Posted by: angel_wing0

well they introduce s60 sp 2...so the new ngage should have edge and be 3g~

Indeed, let's hope Nokia doesn't keep us in suspense

Posted by: RoYaL21

Would be really stupid if it doesnt have EDGE and 3G. They promote the N-Gage as a onlie multiplayer device, so it must have the a high speed datarate.
