My kids are wanting a new phone. I searched the post and there are no a lot of post on the V 180. A little help please which is the best free phone now the V220 or the V180? I don't need a camera phone but I will not dismiss one.

same phone...the V220 has a camera and is gray....the V180 black with no camera....the features are identicle

The V220's camera is pretty much worthless. Picture quality is horrible. So, decide whether or not you really need a camera and if not, go with the V180.

If your kids are rough on phones, I would consider a candy bar style phone like a Nokia.

it's the same ×××× camera as your V400...it's the screen. send a picture to your V400 and it'll look roughly the same! the screen resolution is horrible compared to the V400, but thats why it costs less!

I use a V180 as my backup/weekend phone when I dont need a PDA phone. I am please with it. My wife has one as well. The price was right.

That's interesting because on the V220 my sister has, the pictures are nowhere near the quality that my V400 takes. And I'm talking about pictures viewed on the computer.

If you can find a V400 that is the one you should get. I was a brief owner of the V220 (flashed it once too often I guess) and now own a V400 I got from EBAY and am VERY happy with this phone. I am making sure I READ through these posts on flashing and flexing. One great thing about the 400 is that they are made tougher. I can tell by just looking at these two phones that my 400 is built to last. Pictures are so much better and just overall layout and features are great. Not to mention the screen size is nice too.

DO NOT buy a v180 or v220, they have software problems and will black the screen out like 2 of mine did, and got new ones through warranty and they do the same thing... go with the Nokia 6010.... cant beat nokias solid reception and build quality

I can't say I'd get a Nokia 6010... But I see too many of the v220's come back to the store with problems... I'd say get the v180, or if you can spend the money a v400 or v551.

both phones are JUNK
my roommates have them both
well one has the 220 and hates it, actually bought a nokia 3220 no contract and loves it, plus it has those flashing lights im sure kids love

and the v180, don't even get me started...that phone is so crappy it falls apart after normal pocket wear within a few weeks

i would def go with a nokia 3120 or 6010
or even the samsung bar phone c207?i think thats the model number

can probably find those phones very cheap or most likely free
i've used them all and are nice phones esp for the price, very durable.

I have had nothing but problems with the V180. The screens blackout after one week of usage, the software is buggy, slow. Try to stay away from it if at all possible. The V220 has had better luck actually. Get your kids a Nokia. They can withstand more, and will last longer

My Fiance just got a Z500 after dealing with the v220 for 6 months. I wouldn't take the low end Motos if you paid me to use one. POS is too kind of a phrase for these phones. She loves the z500 and i am going to be using it next week, so I will get back to you on that. If I were you I would look at the 6010, z500, 3120, 3220.
