Hello all,

I recently bought a P900 and I think that it's a great phone-PDA but I sense something odd about it's SMS program. I noticed that the recipient's name in the SMS Sent folder takes quite a while for it to appear and replace the number? And if you sent a message to multiple recipients, the names do not appear but only the numbers and they don't get updated with the names.

I've tried these combinations:
- all contacts stored in the SIM card and none on the phone
- all contacts stored in the phone and none on the SIM card
- all contacts stored in both SIM card and phone
but all gave the same results - slow updates on single, no updates on multiple messages.

I've used a P800 before and it doesn't behave like this - names are updated instantly after sending, be it single or multiple messages.

Using SMan I noticed that on the P800, the Contacts and Messages apps are executed on startup while it's Messages only for the P900.

Is this the normal behavior of a P900 or is it malfunctioning? By the way, I'm using a unit with R5B02 firmware.

My 910a does the same thing...sometimes.

Nothing wrong, just a different way of showing who the msgs were sent to. It is annoying since I dont know everyone's cell # and have to often look at my contacts to see who's # is who's.

I've got to say that I find this a tad anyoing as well.

From me experiments it seems that messages where the contact was added by tapping on To: all it stores is the number, whereas if you reply to a message the name is carried through.
