N-Gage Warez sites (Which are not!)

I have been rather concerned to have been informed by a number of users on N-Gage-Help.com that moderators here have been removing NGH links and stating that NGH is a warez site.

The moderators are free to openly remove any content from these forums however I am wondering why such derogatory remarks are being made to our members concerning NGH?

NGH is not a warez site, we pride ourselves on being one of the original N-Gage specific sites that actually exist purely on a technical support basis.

When asked about this previously the a admin here stated that our games packs contained crackers signatures. To be honest since we took over NGH I had not got around to checking the contents of those packs. They where uploaded by the previous webmaster.

I subsequently removed the keygens and all references to such signatures. What is left now is just obselete java games that are virtually classed as abandonware. They are not intended as a promotion of warez, more just a basic promotion for those software companies. (the software houses that still exist that is)

I would like to remind Howard's Forum's that if you wish to be this petty, a considerable number of the Wallpapers that you openly promote the posting of are also copyrighted material. An unlike obselete games graphics are rarely classed as abandoned by their creators.

So lets be realistic about this, we exist somewhat for the same purpose, although your site covers a broad spectrum and NGH is a specifically targeted forum. We exist in under the same banner as predominately technical support communities that do not promote software piracy. So please refrain from incorrectly stating that we do.

The net is a vast place, there is room enough on here for all the various forums large or small.

Also lets not forget that that majority of N-Gage related techical support, including various workarounds for techincal problems that have arisen, originated from NGH and in many cases those where my actual posts.

The same information has been mirrored here and in many other places both by admins.moderators and posters. You don't hear me screaming blue murder about copyright?

Basically this is because I believe that information should be out there to help the users of these devices, but it is nice to get acknowledgements. To have peeps using your hard work as a way of promoting their own sites then turning around and insulting you is a real kick in the teeth.

As you may notice on NGH, we did have acopy of the MMC compatibility list (WHich we gave full acknowledgement for). However that has somewhat evolved since then because a number of the devices that are listed here as compatible, have since been proven not to be.

Lets hope we can put this minor misunderstanding concerning the interpretation of NGH behind us and that this site and NGH can have a more productive partnership in helping N-Gage users get a reasonably trouble free enjoyment of their phones.

Dumping tea, that's unforgivable. Us Irish prefer to drink it

actually i am still surprised by the bashing that the N-Gage got in reviews over there. I guess the peeps carrying out the reviews did not realise its full potential. They seemd to compare it to a gameboy advance with a phone added.

For those that don't know, The N-Gage is clearly not a GBA, and in fact as its been proven by recent games releases it actually leaves the GBA for dust.

Its a quirky little side talking phone with gaming ability. (no sidetalking in chopped down QD version)

Its a stereo MP3 player, in fact it has the best thumping Bass range in its class. FM radio. Video player. Personal Organiser. You name it, it basically does it and even though its over 12 months old it still leads the gaming phone market and scorez the highest on the processing power in its class.
