If so, how? Having a hard time figuring this out.
Edit: Phone is Motorola Mpx220.
TIA,

After about an hour of tinkering I was able to get it working with both the native Windows XP SP2 bluetooth stack and the included "my bluetooth places" widcomm software with my bluetooth adapter.
Pair the two devices with your bluetooth software and make sure your computer is offering a "bluetooth serial port" service. Make a note of the COM number it assigns that serial port (you can check this in Device Manager under "Ports (COM & LPT)"
In Activesync on the computer, go to File > Connection Settings. Make sure the serial/infrared option is selected and choose the COM number from above in the drop down list. In my experience, it will not find the COM port if the number is higher than 8 or 9. I can show you how to change that if it assigns a number higher than that. If you can't get into the Connection Settings, just skip this step and go to the next step.
Then, choose "Get connected" at the top of that window.
At the same time the "Get connected" thing is searching, launch the Activesync program on the MPX220. Choose Menu > Connect via Bluetooth... It should connect to the bluetooth serial port on the computer (your computer might prompt asking if you wish to allow the Smartphone to access that service, just allow it). At this point, it should be asking to create a partnership and you should be good to go from there!
Hope that helps..

thank you so much! Was trying to do this for about an hour until I came across this thread.
Is there a way to connect to the internet via bluetooth using my pc's cable internet connection? If possible, what are the steps?
Plus, can I leave bluetooth set "on" all the time (on my pc and phone)? Does it drain the battery faster if I do so?
Thanks buddy!

Do you mean you want to use the internet functions of the phone using your computer's cable modem connection? If so, yes. In Activesync on the computer, go to Tools > Options > Rules tab and turn on the bottom option about allowing the "Pass-thru" connection.
About leaving bluetooth on... yes, it does drain the battery a little bit faster... isn't a big deal though.

thanks again gronnie! that is exactly what I was asking. how does the phone know when browsing the web to use "pass thru" connection versus Mmode (data connection)? I want to make sure I'm not using my data connection (since I'm being charged for it) if I don't have to since I'm connected by Comcast cable internet at home.
So are you leaving bluetooth on all the time too? I took some pics today with my camera with bluetooth on and it looks good. Don't think I have this problem that others mentioned.

Not quite sure how to force the phone to use the pass-thru... i'd just imagine it would use it while connected via activesync however I could be wrong. I just know it works because if the experience i've had with pocket pc phone editions using the activesync pass-thru. I didn't see any specific option in the internet explorer to force it to use the pass-thru... just try it and see if it connects to GPRS.
Yeah I leave my bluetooth on all day now... don't know why I do as I don't really use it outside of the 5 mins a day when I sync at home.

Just wanted to thank the posters on this thread. I was also futzing with this for about 2 hours before I found this thread and afterwards, this worked great.
Lots still to learn about BT and the MPX220, so I am certain to be back.

I have a problem while trying to syncing my bluetooth (WIDCOMM) with MPX220 After I install the bluetooth drivers and when I'm trying to start ActiveSync it starts looking for bluetooth devices and couldn't find it.
From Bluetooth configuration it says it uses COM3 though.
Since I cannot start activesync I cannot go furthur in above steps?
