Someone PLEASE answer this question, I have the same exact program. I got the data cable (it says lg vx7000 on it) and I've tried to use it with both bitmip and qpst and the programs won't recognize that the phone is there. When I plug the phone into the usb, windows xp detect the phone and it asks if I should let it pick the drivers, or pick the drivers myself. I let it pick the drivers and it installs, and nothing works after that. I then downloaded like 3 different drivers from various sites and that didn't work either. WHAT DO I DO!!!?

USB Installer (May not be needed)

Since I don't like bitpim all that much, I suggest sticking with QPST !

I have the LG VX7000 also and I have no trouble at all connecting..... here's how I did it:

STEP 1:
1. Open Phone
2. Press OK
3. Press Right twice.
4. Press 5
5. Press 7
6. Press 2
7. Choose USB and press OK

STEP 2: (Using Win XP)
1. Connect Phone to PC
2. Click Start
3. Choose Control Pannel
4. Choose System
5. Click the Hardware tab
6. Click Device Manager
7. Click the + next to Ports (COM & LPT)
8. Note which COM Port your Cell Phone is connected to.
The port that says something like:
FutureDial USB Diagnostic Serial Port Drivers (WDM) (COM4) < -Future Dial Cable
or
Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM4) <-Verizon Cable

STEP 3:
1. Click Start > All Programs > QPST > QPST Conviguration
2. Click the Add New Port... button
3. In the box next to Port, type COM4
(Replace 4 with the com port you noted in step 2-8.
4. Type Cell Phone or LG VX7000 in the Port Label box... this can be anything.
5. Click OK
6. Wait a bit until your phone is recognized by QPST.
You may need to disconnect then reconnect the cable from your phone or wiggle the connection to your phone a bit.
7. At the top of the QPST Configuration window, Click Start Clients > EFS Explorer

You're now connected... if it worked for you.

Once all of this is done, you don't need to run the Configuration tool again, you cna simply choose EFS Explorer and connect to the LG VX7000.

I hope this was helpful... I know how much it sucks to wait for a responce that never comes.

hey man thanks alot for all your help your the only one who has tried, but i still run into some problems

when i install the drivers they dont appear on the controlpanel/system/drivers thing. any ideas why?

Same problem here, the drivers that came with it dont work and neighter does futuredial. Is your cable called "USB Data Cable" with no type of company logo on the box at all? It does not show up in the hardware part no matter what USB port I use.

some things about future dial if its the SERIAL cable (its serial if it has a little "block" in the middle of the cable.

this is a PROLIFIC device and these drivers are very poorly written and VERY territorial. if you can not install TWO prolific based drivers or devices

one driver and NEVER connect both at the same time.

when I installed my prolific chipset based palm cable it killed my sanyo cable and when I installed the palm driver it really screwed things up/

the palm cable RUNS off the prolific serial driver from the phone cable fine and both work fine as long as I NEVER plug both in at the same time ???

Maybe this is part of the problem ?

also if you have no driver installed then somewhere in the list you should have a YELLOW icon with an exclamation for a USB device connected but no driver assigned to it (go there and mess with that to try and manually install the driver)

if you do not see this then you either have not found it (its there somewhere) OR your cable is bad and NOT being detected by windows OR you have a bad usb port

diagnose from there
