SE Update Problem

I went on to the SE UPdate site like I do every week to see if there were any new updates for my P910i. When I entered my CDA# 162005/3 I got a message saying that the number was either wrong or no longer supported.

I double checked and it was definitely the version on my phone. Just to test the site I entered 162005/2 and was told that the most current version of the organizer is R3A04 (the version on my phone) Has anyone else encountered this?

They way it looks now, I am a release ahead of what is actually on the website.

I am getting the same error message:

CDA162005/9R3A04 is not supported or you have entered an incorrect number.

If the number is correct it means that your operator does not approve usage of the service for this device. If the number is incorrect, click Back and enter the right number.

Just checked the SE update site for the P910i & looks like option for CDA 162005/3 is back to normal. Well we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Oh and there has been no change in the latest firmware - R3A04.

Can some please post the link.
When I follow the pages on the SE website, and then click on the "Sony Ericsson Update Service", I just get a 404 error page.

If you choose "manual" verification and then type in 162005/3. You'll receive a reply that says:

" For CDA162005/3, the latest organiser version is R3A04. Now you need to compare this version number with the one in your phone.
Click here for instructions on how to find the phone software version.
If you have the latest version there is no need to perform an update, unless you are experiencing a problem with your phone. If so, you should always perform an update, even if you have the latest version.
Click here for release notes."

If you want a different version..type in the CDA sequence... your results may vary.

BTW this is for the P910i ONLY for now.. I'm sure when the firmware gets its next revision, they may setup an update page for the P910 a .

Cheers for that, finally got around to updating it.
Just wondering does it take anyone else hours to restore your phone?
The software claims that there is 30 minutes left for at least an hour, and by this point, I just go to bed.

At the cost of sounding repetitive, the Update Service, as of December 08, 2004, is NOT yet available for the P910A , ONLY the P910i.

HOWEVER, if your phone should fail and need to be "Recovered". There have been reports at esato.com's forums of P910A using the Update Services' Recovery Mode successfully to bring their phone back to a viable state. This is good, so at least should you royally screw up your P910a, you can fix your mess on-line instead of hunting down a local authorized SE service center.
