Originally posted by daveyp225 I never said it was equal sound-wise, though I bet they sound basically the same through headphones. The "equality" was an implication for their features. Did you get those glasses yet? |
and i agree they MAY ONLY sound same through the headphone and what if you don't want to use headphones?
think again

Originally posted by Levent 6230, either accept crappy mono sound out of it or live with your headset...that is so funny to compare a phone like 6230 to E398 about mp3 player. What is the use of having 1 gb card if you can't listen to it stereo???? you can listen to 6230 stereo only thru a big headset with a jack under the phone that is nokia's brilliant idea? (E398-Port for stereo-headset is located on the top edge, it is covered with rubber cork, which is attached to the case. The advantage of such solution is that it does not use standard interface connector, which is located on the bottom side of the phone, although you can connect the headset there as well. But in that case the construction will turn out being rather big, and this is not a good thing at all. The typical example of wrong solution is Nokia 6230, the phones size with connected headset increases by almost one centimeter, this cannot be called optimal). Originally posted by Kapsama You sound desparate now. First of all, the 6230 has stereo output through the speakers. Second of all, how does a 1 cm increase in phone size matter? Only anal retentive people like Eldar would even have the nerve to use this as a negative point. The stereo speakers of the E398 are not a advantage for MP3 playback. An I-Pod doesn't have external Stereo speakers, is the E398 a better portable Music player because of that? Please. |

Originally posted by Levent 6230 doesn't have stereo speakers let'smake this clear first. The only way you can listen any song from 6230 stereo is if you use jac under the phone. And the anal example you gave is lame. I have nothing more to say since you are comparing an i-pod and a phone. Are you comparing i-pod to E398 because you can't compare 6230 to E398 in mp3 player? Can you make calls with i-pod? you sound sarcastic. Try something else to come up with cuz it's not working. |

Originally posted by Kapsama You're right, I meant to say earphones. And my comparison stands. The stereo speakers of the E398 or the 1 cm extension on the Nokia don't make the MP3 listening experience superior on the E398. First of all people listen to portable music through earphones not through the loudspeaker. And second of all the E398 is longer than the 6230 by default so when comparing the sizes with headphones plugged in the 6230 might still win. Compared to that the almost ten fold difference in size for MP3 space is a humongous advantage. |
. CDMA, but still going to be one nice phone!

. And by the way, when it comes to multimedia, i guees experience does count, what does "xxKIA" knows about it? Untill recently it was boasting of it's MONO FM phones, but ironically "xxKIA" never admitted in any press release that it's phones produce MONO quality sound. SICK! Oh! i forgot, if you're looking for a phone, then please look for a phone, a smartphone could well entice your senses, but trust me, with simplicity comes predictability. If you could get your hands on any smartphone (Symbian/Windows Mobile) compare the ease of "PHONE" features that you'll be using the most, and then decide, are they worth it?
