MPx220 Earpiece Vibration/Distortion

I have recently started using a MPx220, and have noticed that the earpiece vibrates internally resulting in a slight "buzz" noise coming out of the earpiece. This happens when the volume is turned up high. Anyone else experienced this problem? I don't think this is a firmware issue (I'm using .342), but rather a physical thing. Thanks.

Yes I noticed the exact same thing on mine when I put it in outdoor mode with the volume all the way up so you could actually hear.. firmware version .343

I get the same thing...

Ditto....... Word......... me too (which ever is the hip saying now a days). Maybe the speaker cant handle going much louder? Sounds like it could pop out of the phone if it goes much louder.

Thanks for your inputs, guys. I'm actually thinking about exchanging it and see how it goes. Will keep you posted

I went to the BestBuy yesterday, but unfortunately they didn't have any MPx220 in stock. The computer showed another BestBuy nearby had 5 of them, but when he called that store, he found out that all of the MPx220's had been recalled (I was wondering if there was another recall!?).
Considering the fact that other people are also experiencing this problem, I'm now starting to think that maybe this is not a defect, but rather a design flaw...

Most likely the same recall that no one knows about. They will get more I am just getting tired of waiting.

Went to a local BestBuy and exchanged my 0.342 (orange sticker) with a new 1.30. Earpiece distortion is now negligible, but someone with 1.30 has reported this problem. So I believe it was a physical imperfection of the speaker. The earpiece does seem to sound a little louder, but this could be due to the absence of the distortion noise.

I get a crackling sound on mine i have the at&t .343 firmware the earpiece is plenty loud but the problem is when i speak people say i go in and out or high and low , i hear them perfectly anyone else have this issue.

Same conditions here with 0.342, highest setting will emit a "crackling" tone. i just keep mine somewhere between high/low as that seems to be fine. Owned it for 22 hours and no probs other than what has been spoken here......(knock on wood) in reply to #34, nobody i've talked to mentioned a fluctuating volume, but i will ask from now on and see if that's the case here.......be back in 24 hours.

I also get the vibrating earpiece sound on my 1.3 MPX220. Makes it sound like a cheap piece of goods.
