I know people are getting frustrated with trying to follow the directions to make their own AAC (MP4) Ringers. But I found out an easier way to do so. All You need are three programs, one of the programs every one with a windows computer would have. The first program that is built into most Windows base computers is the sound recorder located in the Accessories folder on your computer, and the othe program you will need is DBPowerAmp and the MP4 codec to encode your file to AAC.
First open up sound recorder and a music player of your choice (Winamp or Windows Media Player), then open the music file you want to make into a ringtone. use the seek bar to go to the part of the song yu want as a ringtone. Hit play in your Media Player then hit record on yur sound recoder to record the section of music. I usually record for about 15 seconds. After you do that save the file to your desktop. After that you should go to the desktop and right click on your newly created music file the select 'convert to' the DBPowerAmp would open a dialogue box. Select MP4 in the convert file to dialogue box, then change the quality to 48kbit/s. After you do that hit convert. Then your Newly created MP4 file will be placed on the Desktop with your orignal file. Then all you will have to do is use www.sprintusers.com/focus to upload your file to you phone!!
ITS THAT SIMPLE PEOPLE!!!
ALSO IF YOU WANT TO INCREASE THE SPEAD OR VOLUME YOU CAN USE SOUND RECORDER TO DO SO ALSO.

Ok so i did this, works great but the file are kind of big. 30 secs at 48k 22050hz came out to be 180ks. Thats a lot for a phone but i can live with dat. What i really want 2 know is if there is a difference between aac file, mp4 files, and 3gpp file. I kinda figured that aac files are mp4 file w/o the video, right?? can u shine some light on this.

Great you are right AAC files are MP4 files without the video. MP3 is also a type of video file, but its not used as such because the compression rate isn't as great as MP4 files. MP4 (AAC) has a better compression rate than MP3, and you can keep a pretty decent bit rate.
SO I WAS WONDERING IF THESE PHONES CON ACCEPT MP4 FILES FOR MUSIC THAT MEANS YOU CAN SEND MP4 VIDEO FILES TO THESE PHONES, BUT I JUST NEED TO FIND OUT WHERE I CAN FIND THESE TYPES OF FILES AT

thanks for the expanation.
So, does this mean my phone(mm 7400) can accept both .aac and .m4a files? or are they just the same files with different extensions.
Also, i heard that Quicktime pro can create mp4 audio and video files for phones.
Wow. I just did that too. You need Quicktime pro w/ Mpeg-4 Authoring Installed.
Import or open the movie you want to encode.
Then choose export. Select "Movie to 3G"
Click On "Options" and select "3GPP (Mobile MP4)"
Then "OK" and "Save" (I encodeed to Quicktime Sample File)
Your going to have to change the extention from 3gp to mp4
WOW.........i need more memory to bad my phone doesn't have a MINISD.
