BT Headsets and the MPX220

I'm going to buy a BT headset so that I can hopefully hear my calls. The phone is about useless right now unless I'm in a quiet room. I love everything else and want the phone but if I can't hear then I'm wasting my time. I'm hopefully waiting for a firmware upgrade. I bought from BB and had the orange sticket. No black stickers yet and my phone is only a couple days old so I have to wait for BB to get them or 30 days I guess. I'm hoping that we can update firmwares ourself
Back to my question. I'm going to buy a BT headset and was looking at both of the Motorola ones.
Can anyone recomend one?
Is one better than the other?
Primary concern is volume.

FYI: You have 30 days to cancel your new Cingular agreement without paying the early termination fee, but you have until January 24 to return the phone. Check your receipt.

What firmware revision do you have? Better yet call Cingular XBM at 18008011101 and tell them that you cannot hear on your phone. If they ask when you bought it tell them its been more than 30 days so it cannot go back to BB. Let them know this and they will replace it with a volume corrected phone.

Havrik,

I have used it with the Nokia HDW-2. Worked okay (good sound, etc.). That was with the 0.325 F/W. I did not try any advance features (like the voice dial that can be stored in the BT headset). I now have the 1.3 F/W but have not tried the HDW-2 headset with it (no need, it seems). I will say that the other BT features seem to work better with 1.3, such as ActiveSync over BT.

Is there that much of a difference for phone volume with the 3.42 to 1.3 firmware?

Yeah there is a huge difference as in you can hear and be heard. Check out the current threads on the FW issues.

I'm using the Jabra 250 with .342 and it works great. Much better than the phone itself. It also worked well with 1.30 firmware.

Sorry to highjack the thread. I'm getting an MPX220 from soemone and they dont have a receipt for it. How can I get it upgraded? If I call that number, will they be able to help me? Also, i'm not a Cingular customer. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
