what do you guys recomend ?

You dont list any of your requirements of the phone, or a budget, so it's a bit of a difficult question to answer.

Bit like asking which car should I buy, without specifying your particular circumstances I could'nt hazard a guess.

For me personally I am waiting for the Sony Ericsson P800 to be released, because it is jam packed with features, which admittedly most people will very rarely use, but are nice to have anyway. The battery life seems to be very good, and it has a built in camera. But you may well feel that it's too big, or that its not worth spending so much money on a phone with features that you may not ever use. This is where it comes down to personal preference and in the end you just have to decide for yourself.

Some people just want a phone to make calls with (strange I know) in which case it would be rediculous to recommend to them a P800 no matter how good a phone it is.

I have just bought my wife a Samsung T100, very nice looking flip phone with a colour screen, for her its fine, and she's very happy with it. But the battery life would'nt be long enough for my use.

Ericsson T39 and T66 - Both are not too expensive, they are world phones with excellent features. I've owned a T39, and the Ericsson menu setup is great and T39 had perfect sound quality. T66 is very tiny and I hear that its also great.

If not those two, you can always settle for a 8290 or 8390. They are decent and preform well. I think that 8290 is better then 8390 unless you use WAP. If so then I recommend 8390.

But for sure, the Ericsson phones are your best choice...

*T68 is too overpriced and definatly not worth the money. Three of my friends own them, they have average sound quality and similar features to the other Ericsson models. So if you are looking for a phone with color, buy a Samsung S100. T68m/i is too overrated.

Sunnyd, Check out which carriers are in your area. I don't think there are any GSM carriers in the Windsor area right now. I'd hate to buy a nice GSM phone only to find out I could not use it. Depending on your price range (and the availability of service), I'd look at the following:

GSM: Motorola C332, Ericsson T68i or newer, Nokia 8390 or newer, Samsung SGH-Q105 or newer.

CDMA: Motorola V60, V120e, Nokia 6370 or 3585 when it comes out. Whatever you do, if you go CDMA, get a phone with CDMA2000 (1X). It's the latest standard for North American CDMA in use.

TDMA: Motorola C331 or Nokia 8360. I wouldn't bother with TDMA since it's being replaced by GSM in the near future.

thanks for the help

GSM is available in Windsor. It is available by the 2 companies that provide GSM in Canada. Also, what is the 8360?

Posted by: Accord_Type_R

First of all what provider do you want? Second which phone(s) have you considered?

Posted by: Sunnyd

Well i guess i will have to go over my limit of $100 CAD,

The providers i would want to go with are Bell Mobility, TELUS PCS, and Rogers AT&T.

The phones that i have considered are
Nokia 8390 GSM, Samsung SGH-Q105, and Motorola V60.

If there is anything else that you have and that is close to what i'm looking for plz let me know because i need a phone asap.

May I ask why Fido is out of the question? Well I have the 8390 on Rogers and is a good phone so far. Also if you want a decent phone and want to stay under $100 I suggest the 3590 from Rogers. I have that phone also and must say I am really impressed with it. Has a lot of features and goodies for a affordable entry level phone. Hope this helps

Sorry. I was thinking of the 8265, but misquoted the number. I have to quit replying when I'm tired...
