.325 firmware from XBM!

I got a BB Mpx220 on black friday with the orange sticker. It was .342
I called Xbm that saturday and I was sent an exchange that was 1.30
This phone was marginally better but at times I still could not hear properly. I had to use my BT headset if I wanted to hear better! The camera definately was not a 1 megapixel camera.
I called yesterday and complained of this and they okayed another exchange. I sent back my 1.3 exchange unit. This way I still have my original in case I want to return it.

Today I received my new one from xbm. It actually had an orange sticker on the box it was sent in.
Guess what.... It was .325
I immediately called them and they are shipping me out another one. We'll see.

Did you arrive at that conclusion based on the sticker under the battery or by start>settings>about>looking at the number sequence after the word manufacturer? All of these early units were reflashed and the stickers still say 0.325 after the S/W.

NO sticker. I checked about and also the sequence that was given by XBM

That sucks. you did the best thing then. They should have overnighted the replacement instead of 2nd day delivery for the screw up. Hopefully they get it right this time.

They are overnighting it no charge. They did that on the second one also. I'll let you know what I get tomorrow. I just checked and it is already at the Fedex ramp since 5pm so It is probably in the air by now.

What do you mean by not a 1 Mpixel camera? The size of the pictures were not 1280x960? Or just that the quality is not up to par?
Are you saying the quality in the 1.3 is worse than in the 0.342? Can you post a sample pic of your 0.342 or 1.3?

I actually thought that the 1.3 camera was indeed an improvement on the .342 version--now its not as clear as the V400 or v600 or v551 but hey--it's a camera PHONE. I have heard that there might be more f/w updates beyond the 1.3 version--but we'll see if that hold to be true--right now, I think it's still in the millworks if at all.
That really sucks that XBM sent you a .325--guess they missed one in the flashing process. lad to hear you are getting it xchanged free of charge!!

what does xbm stand for?

And what is the latest version firmware? 1.30?

I bought my mpx220 off of ebay and it had the .325 firmware on it. Called Cingular and they replaced it no problem. Just got my new one today...

mines is a cingular branded but i am using at&t sim card..
