Google canada?

Why is it when I try to bring up the url http://www.google.com it defaults to google canada?
BB 7520 using webviewer.

It does the same thing for me and has since the beginning. I have wondered the same thing, but never got around to asking. I do not know that it necessarily matters, but it is odd. I did not know there was a difference between the regular and a canadian version.

google.ca picks better websites, cause canada is better... but google.com is biased... it's an american thing. get over it.

It's not RIM's fault -- it's Google's fault.

Google detects the IP address as originating from USA or Canada. That's why if you visit Canada, and type http://www.google.com on a Canadian computer, it will automatically go to http://www.google.ca

When using Internet on a Blackberry, and BlackBerry is a Canadian company, the Blackberry proxy servers that the BlackBerry Internet Browser uses, uses Canadian IP addresses.

If you need to force your BlackBerry to visit the .com version of the Google website, click the link "Go to google.com" at the bottom of www.google.ca and then bookmark that page.
