OT: BB Customer Service with ATT vs TMobile

Is it just me or on the occasional times where I have needed to actually speak to a data support rep or customer service - between ATT vs. Tmobile, Tmobile is Far Superior.

TMobiles hold times (less than 1 minute if not instant pick up) and the techs actually know what they're doing.

ATT - LONG hold times. Approx 20-45 minutes average, and the technical reps are not as good *checking on it for you sir, let me check with a colleague, etc*.

I think it depends on how they handle the wireless support. Nextel used to have their regular customer service people doing the initial support and now they transfer everyone on a Blackberry to a special division. It's a much improved system of doing things and the people who specialize in wireless understand the devices much better than the customer service front line folks.

I have T-Moblie for voice and Cingular for blackberry. I just purchased the 7290 when I called Cingular for tech support, they needed to switch me to ATTWS. The rep answered fast and was able to help me out.

Although I've only been with Cingular a couple of weeks, I find the customer service to be as good as T-Mobile.

Cingular is known to have rather bad customer service.... However, the BlackBerry representatives at AT&T are far smarter than the average Cingular cellphone rep.

When calling, make sure you specifically ask for the BlackBerry department. That's where the smart people are
