My buddy just took over a wireless company and has three n-gage qd's that read demo mode only. I heard that there is a flash box to program these but where would you hook it up as there is no data port on the QD? Also what flash box do I need? Thanks

its called griffin box if i didnt remember wrong...

Any idea where this hooks up. I know the first N-Gage had the usb port but the QD doesn't.

i have no idea...but i dont think u have to have a data cable..but i'll rather not talk about it since flashing/unlocking is a ban topic...

try to talk to the hofo marketplace forums about this

i think this is a topic that can be discussed due to the fact that no ppl here can do that, at least thats what they say

yes there are ppl WHO CAN DO IT..its just u need your own equipment (eg: marketplace forum)

u cant bcuz u dont have a data port, you will have to tear it apart

The limitation with any demo unit is that the hardware is not designed or fully integrated for any other use than showing the offline mode. In other words, the firmware and the feature set is designed specifically for demo units. So even flashing new firmware won't enable any regular unit features.

Well hard to say, some claim it's possible but Nokia doesn't want anyone doing it. This is according to someone who is a Nokia tech.

got whacha mean...but too bad then i guess..at least u can use it as a full-time mp3 player/game console the full time

Posted by: TriBand81

Lol yep but I like having the complete feature set including making calls.

Posted by: angel_wing0

true...but if u dont have a choice...then? (i'll taill take it )

Posted by: TriBand81

And toy with it to get it fully running?

Posted by: angel_wing0

arr..icic~

i m now going to look fo r a QD...wanna give it a try again

Posted by: TriBand81

Why not? That way you can have the best of both . While you're at it, you can glue the two together to get the Music Player, stereo sound and hotswapping all in one .

Posted by: angel_wing0

err...nice idea..but i'll rather not risk the chance of ruining my ngage

Posted by: TriBand81

Especially since the original would be so hard to replace

Posted by: angel_wing0

xactly

but no luck in getting one so far...
