I spent all day yesterday, online constantly, trying to get the
Verizon banner off my LG 6000. I couldn't even find my phone on the
bitpim connection! It went through these gyrations, only to have me
be hopeful....then nothing. Some brew error I think. I am not sure.
The messages sound so technical, and you can't cut and copy them.
It is driving me nuts.
I don't claim to be a rocket scientist, but I am fairly smart, and
catch on quickly ... most of the time. Nothing should be this
hard!! I have downloaded every driver known to man!! Still no go. I have a scsi cable I specifically bought for the lg 6000. Can anyone help me? Lead me through this technical nightmare? Thanks in advance

I don't know about the serial cable that you have. I would take it back and get the futuredial cable from Radioshack. it's 20.00 and works like a charm. The One thing you need to do is manually set your phone data to USB and then go to the device manager after installing the futuredial cable drivers and seeing which port they have been assigned to and manually setting the COM port in bitpim. That's what worked for me after I had been trying to use another type of USB cable without the square box in it.
Try that and see.

I finally got it fixed just yesterday I didn't have my phone set to USB. The hours I wasted! I hope I never have to do anything else to my phone (except use it). The LG forum at yahoo had the step by step instructions. I would recommend it to everyone. Thanks though, for answering my post

Can you please point me to where the step-by-step instructions are in the Yahoo LX forum? I have been struggling with bitpim for several days and really need some help.
Thanks!
