That's it?! Only $10.50 an hour?! Are you working for Bell Mobility in a retail store or at a call centre? Just what sort of pay levels are in the call centres and how does one mosey their way in?

Posted by: godsfantasy

Fido's Call centers starting pay is $14.40 per hour.

You must speak Frech & Eng. to apply for call centers... Its so sad... Otherwise, I'm sure that I'll be a great CS Rep. @ call centers over summer or something.

Posted by: rajsss

okay no answers yet?'

come on i need to know people help me out

Posted by: Boukie

You get a pay cheque... thats what you get.

$10.50 for the call centre? Check your source on that one dude. :P

You also get washroom breaks at Bell Mobility.

Posted by: rajsss

am dude i never said the call center
i was askin about the retail store

Posted by: lp_papillon

Well it depends, is it a corporate store or a franchisee?

I work in a franchisee and there aren't any perks other than the demo line (right now I have 2500 min + nights&weekends 6PM paid for me)...
The pay is pretty good for a student job, I wouldn't do this as a carreer though.

corp store

ne long distance

telus gives totally free phoens form wut i understand

Posted by: enermac

Dude.. if you are taking this job for more money.. why do you ask? All they have to give you is a pay cheque.. and if there are any perks I dont think you will see them till after your probation period. Take the job cuse you like the people, the position, the company. Not for the perks..

Well it might be different for corpos, here they lend us phones and lines, if you want to buy your own phone you have to pay full price. I got mine with Blue Chips though, which is another perk of working for Bell... every activation and ExpressVu or Sympatico sale gives your "chips", or points if you will, and you can buy (free of charge) pretty much anything with it. It's a nice bonus...
I pulled around 100$ worth of LD + roaming charges in the US one month, and they didn't bill me for it, but usually they will... (I'm just that good to them )

Bell corps are no different, you have options on rebates for phones and some are free. The plans are amazing too, your manager will tell you about them when or if you get hired.

Posted by: GaDgEtMoN

BTW. I don't think the Telus guys are getting the free demo lines any longer.

I was getting $8.00 /hr, and that was the highest pay rate, man did I ever get jipped. To Hell with Bell and undercutting their employees, if I known Fido paid 1/3 more, I would have not wasted my time at bell.

With commissions, you'll double your hourly rate. Besides, there's the free donuts. And the kick ××× Q4 launch parties, if you're out west that is.

No Timmys in our mall, Second Cup though.

Posted by: DarrenGuy

MUST HAVE TIMMY!!!!!!!!

Posted by: meemee

lol I had a seasonal job with Bell World when I was living in Kingston. Was making 8.50 and it wasn't really fun cuz mostly all I did was call in activations *lol* Then again that was a few years ago...heh

Posted by: phunkEmunky

CS in the call centre starts at $13.85 or at least it did over 2 years ago. that's for the 6 week training period which i think is 5 weeks now. then your pay goes up to $15.47/hour when you go on lines.

you do not need to be english and french speaking. i do not speak french, and they hired me.

but this is about the retail not call centre.

Our next door neighbour is Timmy, we only have to walk about twenty feet to get our fix

Posted by: DarrenGuy

Same here! The one by us in almost in our parking lot... Actually people wil use our parking lot if theirs if full!!

Put it this way, I make more than 3 times more as a PART TIME sales rep then I did killing myself 50+ hours as a manger at Canada's largest shoe company.

NO ONE who works for the company is going to tell you what they make especially on a public forum. Ask your manager and ROM about the perks, there are too many to list.

Go into a big store, the sales people are adults, not kids, what does that tell you.

We defend the company because it is a good company to work for!

PS - Timmies and free lunch are nice, as well as kick ××× parties and cool co-workers!

Shaner;

You will be glad to know you are still regularly mentioned in the store!

actually, telus had the best employee phone offer b4... they gave demo's to dealers before. now its strictly corp. employees, and dealers have to pay (same way bell works i believe).
Later

Posted by: lp_papillon

I have my line demo'ed to me and I'm in a Bell World franchisee...
They used to lend me the phone, but I've got a 6225 on order with my blue chips, so it won't cost me a cent for either the phone or the line... 2500 d + N&W 6PM.
