Data Cable for Sanyo so I can put it on Verizon
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi.
I currently have verizon service but want to use a sanyo from Sprint..
I know i can get the MSL from the sprint phone using BitPim, but I do not know what data cable I need for the phone.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a sanyo data cable (at an actual store, like best buy, compusa, radioshack, etc..)
I want either the SANYO 4500 or 7400
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU!
(PS - if this has worked for you, could someone explain the process to me as well?)

Has really no one ever tried this, or gotten it to work? I see the thread has been looked at 38 times...

*Sigh*...
Basically you get the Data Cabe of the model of the phone you have. For example, you have the Sanyo 8100..So you get the Sanyo 8100 Data Cable...
Here is a link that tells you how to find your MSL..
Find MSL
It shows you step-by-step how to do it...*GASPS* Even pictures!!
Once you find the MSL, you must...MUST!..change it to 6 zero's
000000
Then you must call Verizon CS and have them activate it.
To get the PRL's you have to dial the *228 number and select option 2, that will show that you are roaming,etc...
Hope this helped..any other questions..please email or PM me, thanks
PS.. here are some others links if you need more help

Exactly how does one go about changing it to 6 zeros? I have tried but can't get it to work.

What exactly did you do to the Samsung that made it work on Verizon? I may try that if I can't get the MSL changed.

I used Verizon's CDMA Channel on Sprint.
You have to go into the Test Mode of your phone to enter it.
Then you have to tell Verizon to put your ESN on their network

Just a guess, but you could save the file with BitPim and then HexEdit it to change your MSL and use BitPim to 'overwirte' it.
On second thought, I think those file are 'locked' and are read-only. Maybe a new version of BitPim will change all this. That would be cool -think about it. Custom GUI's for your phone, you could write them yourself.

Well, you do need a data cable, and BitPim. After you get your data
cable and download Bitpim, you need to get your MSL
here's the link to get your MSL
http://webpages.charter.net/cellcodes/bitpim.html
Then you need to get into the NAM programming of your phone, and enter
in your number,etc
Then change the CDMA Channel to Verizon's which is
20283 I believe
Then you can use it on Verizon, you have to call Verizon and tell them
to put the ESN on the account, they will do it. They have for me 3
times
