It works with my 6100. From reading other threads, I'd guess you should play around with different COM ports until you find the one that works.

the drivers for the 6100 are listed in the drop down. What are drivers are you using? what are phone settings are you using?
Anything would be great.

remember if you umplig it, plug it back in the same connection you used before. This is due to the computer may see 4 usb ports and assign a different port to each usb port.
Keep it in the same hole and it will almost always retain the same port#.
