Does the 5600 support individual per caller rings out of the box? Specifically, can I set up a contact (or group of contacts) to have a special ring?

Yes you can have custom ringtones for each contact.

1. Open a contact
2. Press "Edit" softkey
3. Scroll down to "Custom Ring tone"
4. Select your tone.

Hydrox, while we on this forum like to share our views and assistance where we can, I can only assume that many post-ers are thinking "Do a Search!" or "Read the Manual!" I am indeed one of them but perhaps a bit more lenient, so I have provided instructions.

If you haven't already, download the FULL MANUAL from audiovox's web site at www.audiovox.com.

I did do a search, and came up empty. I also went to Audiovox, DL'd the manual...searched that and came up empty.

They kinda hid this feature...as I was expecting it to in the menu key when you have a contact open...along with Add speed dial, Sent Text Message Add Voice Tag Save to Sim etc.

Blimey Hydrox, I owe you my sincerest apologies. That 211-page 5600 manual doesn't tell you how to do this (custom ring tone for each contact).

I must have just picked up on it when fiddling with my own 5600. As to why this isn't in the manual...

Again, Hydrox - I was wrong to assume it was in the manual (but it should be, right?!?) and basically scold you for not trying hard enough. [For shame, Dom, for shame...]

I shall never doubt you or any other post-er again. ;-)

No problem. I searched the manual and ALL over these forums....I could not believe that it was mentioned no where!!

I always try to do a forum search before posting, but sometimes the results are so way off base I wonder why I even bothered.

Along the ame lines, and I searched and looked int he manual....

How the heck can you make a group of contacts and then assign a ringtone to the group.

They have this for the photo ID app, but I can't seem to locate a way to do this for custom reingtones.
