). I had already contacted the vendor. This model functions by placing the external display ××××××ds. I am trying to avoid this in order protect the display by wearing it inwards. This is the same concept used by Kyocera model I cited and the ProClips model for the Treo 600.

Originally posted by theedge55 I disagree. The Kyocera7135 was similar in shape (wider but the sides had buttons and such like the Mpx) and their holster was great! The phone would ring or a reminder would sound and it was easy to just reach down pull the phone out and look at the external display for caller ID or to see the appointment reminder. It had a nice secure "click" upon snapping or unsnapping. SO LET ME ASK THIS. IF I CAN FIND A WAY TO MANUFACTURE THEM IS THERE ANY INTEREST IN BUYING SOME? I WOULD TRY TO FACILITATE THE SALE IN A SIMILAR MANNER THAT BENGALBOY DID THE SALE OF THE BLUESPOONS. LET ME KNOW BY POSTING HERE. THANKS, THE EDGE |

Originally posted by mikesm Well, I finally got my holster today. Not the vendor's fault - I was away for the holidays and just got back and had to pick up mail at the post office. Anyways, it's a rigid plastic holster, with a tiwstable belt clip. I stuck my mpx220 in it, and boy, it required a lot of force to install! I got it in there, and it was secure, but it looked like it was built for another phone. Then I thought about what medenblik was asking about, one where the phone's outer display faces inward. So I tried it that way, and it fits perfectly! Not exactly what I was hoping for, but it seems to work fine, and the antenna points out that way. So medenblik, your request has been answered. Order one from the place I mentioned earlier and I think you will be happy. Nice holster. Thanks, Mike |

Originally posted by mikesm jim138, yes the holster can be turned 90 degrees in either direction from vertical. So you can have the phone horizontal if you want. This isn't the best configuration for network coverage however, but then you probably know that already. The headphone jack is accessible when in the clip, and a headphone cable shouldn't catch on the holster when being removed either. The holster grabs the phone by the sides at the bottom, and by the hinge at the top. The clip even butts up into the little grey protective strip on the antenna just like the hinge does. The clip holds the body of the phone at somewhat of a distance away from the external display, so it shouldn't scratch it at all over time. It looks a little less secure this way, but still feels snug. There is a little tab on the top to help you remove the phone from the holster. Medenblik, I think this holster is what you are looking for - I prefer the display on the outside so it's a little disappointing to me, but it sounds like what you are looking for. If folks would like it, when I get home tonight I'll take some photos of the phone in the holster and the clipping mechanism so you can all see what I am talking about. I would use the mpx220 camera, but can't when it's in the holster. PS And yes, the camera is protected by the holster too. Thanks, Mike |

Originally posted by theedge55 OK. Is it just me? But it looks like the holster is really meant for another phone. I mean I want a holster that will allow the phone to be carried facing in, but the pictures make it look like this was not engineered this way. |
