Hi All!
I am very new to the forum and hope that you guys with expertise could offer me some help.
I am about to purchase a 1.3 megapixel camera phone and i was thinking of innostream A10. I was informed thatt the camera type that the brand use is the CMOS type. I always believe that the CCD type is a better type for megapixel camera phones.
Any professional opinions guys?

ccd is generally better, but requires larger components. CMOS type cameras generally aren't as good, but they are smaller. The new Samsung D500 uses a very good cmos sensor that can be compared to the ccd sensors of the s700i and gx32

what about the quality of pictures taken from these types of camera, which is better?

Samsung D500 ? the cool black colour slide phone right?
that one is also 1.3Mb but unfortunately, still not out in Malaysia...
but the storage size is quite small..

yeah - the samsung is the black slider phone - but it has 96 mb of memory for storage of ringtones and pictures - thats really quite a big chunk of memory (it has 4 mb more for java applets)...

CCD Cameras usually have better pictures that are sharper and more true to color. There are exceptions though, one being the samsung, its CMOS camera is really good when compared to other cmos cameras and some cmos cameras do very well with color.

ok then, i guess the price tag RM1800 that goes with inno A10 isnt that worth. but... gosh, it has 128mb memory....

hope that the sgh d500 will have an acceptable price tag on it.
anyone care to review the specs to me?
the design is also cool...

what other 1.3mb camera phones is good in terms of its picture quality?
the sony s700 is too pricey..

how accurate is that price you quoted for the a10 - where did you get that information from?

EDIT - also - what is rm? is that chinese renminbi? because in that case the phone is ultra cheap...

Posted by: Kricket

also - check this out - im back on the inno a10 kick - if anyone can read this language - they have a price quoted for it - what currency is it listed in? also - is it out already?

http://www.tomatomobile.net/product.asp?prd_id=273

EDIT - just realized that was the a10 and not the a11 - but at least we can get an idea on price - perhaps it will be comparable...

hi kricket!
RM is the Malaysian currency, approx 1USD = RM3.80
figure that out...

i got the figure from the distributor.
now i m torn apart between SGH D500 samsung or Inno A10...

though braindead told me that the camera quality of D500 is better, i appreciate if i could have the sample pics taken from both camera...

Posted by: braindead5400

I didn't say the D500 was better than the A10, its better than most cmos cameras, I have yet to see any pics from the A10 to make a comparison

Posted by: Kricket

wow - that translates into about $475 usd - if its that price - then id rather go with the d500 myself...

Posted by: weepingdevil

sorry braindead, i was referring in general coz both has CMOS type camera, yeah appreciate if you could conclude which is better once reviewing pictures taken from both phone.

and..kriket, how much is D500? compare to that price of A10 in USD?
R u sure that D500 is cheaper?

what do you think, is buying samsung better since we'll get better after sales support and a lot of compatibility dowloadable stuffs from service providers compare to less renowned innostream?

Posted by: braindead5400

the D500 is more expensive than the A10, its $629 compared to the $4 something the A10 is.

Even if you buy the D500, you probably won't get support for the phone unless the provider carries it. I can't download anything onto my S700i from tmobile because they don't carry the phone and Tzones won't let me

oh no - the d500 is definitely not cheaper - not now at least - but by the time the a11 launches - im sure it will have come down at least a little in price - i guess i have to weigh in all of the factors - the d500 has bluetooth - but then i have to determine whether thats worth the extra cash or not...
