so i have an unlocked 6800 cingular branded phone and am using it on the tmobile prepaid service.

i have a few questions.

1) i have heard that the cingular branded phones have been crippled....how do i know if mine is? And if it is, how can i "uncripple it"?

2) i want to check my pop mail on the phone...is this possible? i used to tmobile configurator and sent the new WAP stuff to my phone....but it keeps telling me that there is a problem - that i don't subscribe to GRPS...is this because I am using prepaid? if not....any ideas on what is going on here?

3) i want to lock my keys so i don't accidently call people when i'm walking around.....i can't seem to find an option to do this....i saw something about security settings....turned on the security code...but that hasn't seem to do anything.

anything else i should know about this phone?

thanks for the help!

Hey! You gotta have GPRS to get the settings - if you are on pre-paid you are out of luck To lock/unlock the keyguard: press Menu and the * key consecutively. Menu will change to "unlock" once the keyguard is active. The phone was specifically designed to operate with Cingular, with Cingular software...although it is unlocked there is no guarantee that the phone will operate per specs with T-Mobile...good luck with that....
