i need help with my v220 phone...just recently deleted a whole bunch of crap without reading the threads (just the HOW TO threads, but some didnt have that much detail) in here now im stuck...tried master resetting and clear, tried PST..but still no use...i cant find the flex file for this phone either....anybody?
i even tried making new files with notepad.exe...but it wont upload...improper size maybe???

whoever has the original flex file or the audio files (ringtones - ~AlertFileXX.mid, ~~moto.mp3 etc) can you please send it to concacunfazibal@aol.com?

if i do get these files...how will i add it to my phone? ...by MPT's, P2kTools, etc?

thanks!

What is the phone doing? Have you tried deleting mytemp.db & temptone.db, + a master reset?

Posted by: nigashorty

i cant enter the ringer detail menu..keeps bouncing back to the main menu....yea i tried deleting the *.db files and master reset..still doesn't work..

update-- i have the original audio files but when i load it back up with P2KTools...i'm either getting generic error or when the audio is stored..it doesnt show up as (Moto, chimes, tada, spooky) but is in the original filenames (AlertFileXX)

how to i restore my audio files correctly?

My reply to a similar thread (AKA don't use P2k to send tones)

I had the same problem. Its apparently because I used P2k to upload the ring tone. I got mine to come back by setting the ring thru the media player. Play a sound, press the special key, and select set as ring tone (or something like that). I found the only way to send ring tones is with moble PhoneTools.

what do u mean special key? i did do that through that menu..still no luck ...i didn't use P2k for ringtones..i used MPT's...

update...i renamed all the "AlertFile's" (received by email by some doode named biggiek<<thanks to him) to their proper filenames like "Tada, Chimes High, etc"

Now it WORKS!! ...only thing that doesn't work, can't access, is the Style: Vibe & Ring detail.....when the phone rings..it's vibrates and the cingular tone comes on (not selected choice)...i can't change it..it bounces me right back to main menu...probably cause i'm still missing some files for the vibrating menu or something?

Where can i get mobile phone tools? And the driver for the V220! I am trying to use the cable!

Posted by: zinkoxyde

You'll have to look for it. No one here will tell you, sorry (read: pirated). The driver for the v220 is the same as the other V phones, I got mine from the P2k /drv folder (4 files, the p2k sys file, and inf files, the usb driver and inf file).

never mind..i found a way around this...
to start over...
1. delete all audio files in audio folder expect *.db and .pat
2. rename all your audio files to proper ones:
from this: ~AlertFile066.imy to this: TaDa.imy
3. restore all with P2KMAN (MPT's and P2KTools won't work; if you get a generic error message, try updating list to open up the folder first and select your folder of choice before uploading)
4. silence all in each category and silence at the end (soft, loud, vibrate & ring)
5. restore your wanted audio files (not using P2KMAN, but with MPT's)
6. restore pictures with MPT's
7. restore phonebook with P2kTools if saved your phonebook

i tried MPT's and P2KTools..but I keep messing up
it just dont upload right when starting over...

i went through this a lot of times each time learning my mistakes.....v220 still has a few bugs after modding (if you go through the ringer type ...it bounces you back to the main menu)

I had this problem too...

WHAT I DID WAS...
upload back all the deleted ringtones and then use PST or some other program to set all the ringtones to slient [There is this one ringtone assign to this hidden feature that cna't be changed by going to details so you will need a program on the computer to change all the ringtones to slient]. next do the process of deleting the stock ringtones then restart... then delete the tempbase and that other file and restart.. now check if you can scroll all the way through your details.

what was this hidden item..cause i called it a bug..thats probably why I can't scroll all the way through the ringer detail.....

if you have it can you tell me? filename "alertfile.imy"? original moto name "high chimes"? or send it to concacunfazibal@aol.com

thanks alot

That bug is call "InfoSvcs" it have an assigned ringtone to it.. but can't be changed through the phone. The only way that i think could be change is to use PST... When you get that program and upload back all the stock ringtones... go to new... features file... then on the toolbar (one of those icon) click on the one that say "Read data from phone" if you pause right on top of it. let it read your phone... then change all the alert to "0" and upload the file back to your phone by click the icon next to the "read data from phone". If you pause on top it should say "write data to phone". once you have changed all the alerts to "0", now is a good time to proceed with your instructions on how to delete the stock ringtones. If anything go wrong.. repeat your steps.

is there a way i can have that infosrv file you are talking about?

nigashorty:

You better remove those links before a mod sees it. Hofo is getting strict on warez and illegal software.
