Hey, just curious...is there anyone in the GTA who is able to upgrade the 6230b's firmware to 5.24? If so, let me know because i want to upgrade my firmware and i dun mind paying for it. Also, wouldn't mind net moniter as well if possible..

Firmware 5.24 is not available to the general public yet. Send your phone to chippery9 in the U.S. for him to flash it to 5.24. He's the only one that has it.

Also, no one has access to Netmonitor unless they are a Nokia technician. Chippery9 does have it but he's no longer adding it to phones he didn't orginally sell.

We have the firmware 5.24 but no net moniter.

how do i know if i have a 6230 or a 6230b?

and once a firmware is released, can you just update your phone with a data cable?

Use this code *#0000# and it will show the version of your phone.

RH-12 is for Nokia 6230
RH-28 is for Nokia 6230b

The 6230b will not be released in canada.

In order to upgrade firmware, you will need special requipment.

checked on this with a buddy of mine at Rogers Network. Their cost is $600 for the dongle only and the sw is extra. Since they don't sell the 6230B it will be a long time before they support flash upgrades.

Firmware can only be flashed by a Nokia Service Center, (or by someone who managed to get their hands on the right equipment. It's quite expensive!)

im running v5.26 on my 6230b and i can't seem to save any operator logos anymore either...

I'm going back to 5.24. I don't see any improvement with the 5.35 anyway.

I know this is an old thread, I lost my faithful 2 yr old 6230 and replaced it with one off of Ebay, it has firmware V05.50 does that mean it can do the cingular 850 band? is it a 6230b?
