I've tried 3 times to send an edited mp3 files to my VX6100 as per the instructions on this and other sites and it's not working. I made a 30 second clip of a song and converted it to 16 Kbps/16 Khz in mono (the file is about 48 KB in size). After that I changed the file extension from .mp3 to .mid When I e-mailed it to my phone through my phone number @vzwpix.com it went through, but when I tried to access the message it said that the pix message could not be read. The only thing I can think of is that when I went back to my computer I right clicked on the file and looked at properties. It actually lists the file type as a MIDI sequence-I thought that changing the extension to .mid didn't actually change the file, it just "fooled" vzwpix.com into thinking it wasn't an mp3 file. Is my computer actually converting the file somehow, causing it to not be able to be played on the phone? If this is the case, how can I fix it? Also, I can play the file on my computer using Windows Media Player just fine in the .mid format. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matthew Hall
