I just got a massive load of animated gif files to use on my phone. anyone know how to convert .gif files to the correct file that the phone can read and how to change an animated gif to the correct resolution without affecting the animation?

i'm having a hard time finding anything for kyocera. (see my post: kyocera resouces?) anyone, know a better place to go besides here and wirelessadvisor? in both places, the kyocera forum is about empty.

try this site for resizing gifs it is free and works great

so once we get a .gif file and resize it what do we save it as and where do we upload onto the SE47 to be able to use as a screensaver?

I have the kx2 (koi) and I send the gifs using mms to my phone and it allows me to set them as screensavers.

sorry i am new to this
1)
what is the koi (kx2) and where can I download it? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything.
2)
I have the kyocera desktop software and bitpim; in which folder would I put the screensaver (.gif) file in?
thanks in advance!

ok thanks brainyjd for the link. it works awesome. now the only problem left. we have the animated gif. we have it set to no bigger than 128x128. now how do we get the SE47 to recognize it as a screensaver. what do we save it as?

Hellooooo, anyone know the answer to the post directly above this?
Posted by: snafu
this has been discussed before. No one knows the file format, and where the screensavers are stored.
Posted by: thatkoreanguy
well for where they're stored, there are two folders where they could work. when you install your own picture, you can assign it to the wallpaper so I'm sure where you install pictures could work. subsequently, there is also a screensaver folder. so I'm sure either folder works fine. just gotta figure out with what name and in what format they need to be installed. can anyone call kyocera or could someone give me the number? maybe one of the tech guys knows.(yeah right
)
btw, I tried bmp01 as the file name. no luck. might need to try other names. does anyone know if you can download a screensaver into your phone using any other means? such as buying one through a phone company? if you can(or have) and know what format it saved at, please post. thanks.

I don't have time to call them but here is the website with the phone numbers depending on where you are:

Please post back what you learn from their tech. support.
thanks in advance.

Anyone have any updates on this request?
Posted by: realgt
don't give up hope, i know theres a way to figure it out...my last slider, a verizon branded se47, didnt have any of those built-in gifs or built-in ringers...the guy who sold it off ebay must've known where to edit those out, so by way of reverse flashing my phone i should be able to figure out what files are stored in the efs portion of a qcn backup...(once i got a hold of that slider i restored my qcn backup from another which had that phone's gifs/midis...anyway, we'll see once i get a chance to do that i'll post here....(haven't had time)

I've called and still I don't get anything from kyocera except that you have to buy them for your provider or they don't know the format.

Maybe someone tried this already but wouldn't it be a good idea to buy a screen saver from your service and see for yourself where it is stored and what it is called. Just a thought.
