Thanks.

Been trying to do it myself but to no avail.

I called Cingular and they added a DATA CONNECTION plan (without extra charge) and gave me a Cingular dialup number (local) that I can use to go online using my SX66 as a modem via BT.

I have a $20 MEdia plan (1500 TM, 250 MMS, unlimited net). I am told there will be no extra charge and won't use up any minutes either.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I was able to get this working and it works pretty well. www.dslreports/mspeed reports 48kbs as my speed, which isn't nearly as bad as dialup.

My first mistake was downloading the software that the user's manual tells you to download. This was simply a bad place to start.

Instead, go to: http://www.cingular.com/business/connection_manager and download their connection manager.

This connection manager software on a clean sx66 will have you connected in 5 minutes if you have a data plan that is not Media Works.

Caveats:
* you need to have ActiveSync disabled on your Desktop (or laptop)
* you need to be running Wireless modem on the PPC with "USB" selected and "START" selected BEFORE you connect the PPC with the cradle when requested by the connection manager software.
* If you have MEDIA WORKS, you will need to create a custom connection using WAP@CINGULARGPRS as your user name and CINGULAR1 as your password and wap.cingular as your APN. The ISPDA@CINGULAR settings only work on the other plans.

BTW, they (Cingular support) don't want you to know this will work on Media Works. They want you on one of the "pay by the MB" plans, so they aren't going to help you much. Also, the device is "not supported" yet. How funny!

WOW thanks for all that info!!

I'm trying to wait for this phone to be hopefully released on the blue NBO side....will i be able to do the same thing with m mode?

Anyone get this to work with BT yet? The wireless modem has a BT option, but I cannot find how to get this to be recognized by the connection manager. In the Cingular Connection Manager the BT option is greyed out. Any info? Thanks
