4900 wallpaper with time and date?

Anyone have any experience with keeping the time and date on the screen when using an uploaded wallpaper/screensaver with the sanyo 4900? I know with my 5150, I just had to use the "small" image size in multimedia master and the time and date would still show above the image on the screen. When I do this with my 4900 and snapmedia, all it will show is the time. Is there something I can do to make both time and date show along with the image? I have tried making the image very small just to see what it would do and it still just shows the time..
